Steve Kan Agreed on January 27-29 at Pettit Racing
I have no clue what's going on, except Cam is going to have a clearance table of RX7 parts tomorrow.
The loss of the air-temp sensor, defaults the stock and PFC computer to think the engine is HOT, thus retarding the timing by 6-degrees!
We also had a weird run where we lost HP, and it turned out they forgot to turn-on the external blower fan to simulate getting an air-flow, which retarded the timing 3-degrees.
Intercooler, preferably a water-based one and a less-restrictive exhuast is on my list before I retune with Steve.

I finially finished with the tunning session today, ended up street tuning a littlebit because the dyno didn't work at first. At the end I put it on the dyno for one run to see what the hp was and I got 365 at 14 1/2 psi. Pretty good but was shy of the 400hp. Dosn't matter because I could have gotten the 400 with alot more boost but for some reason I wasn't ready to take any risks. Steves tune is awsome, real smooth power something I didn't have before. Also a good guy to work with. Thanks alot Steve.
Spooler, 365 is great. With a 20% loss at the dyno, that's about 465 to the crank!
And like you said, Steve's tune is so smooth and tractable, which I'd rather have than a real peaky tune.
Steve, which blonde in your avatar is your new girl ?

Congrats. to everyone who put down some respectable #'s. Especially us stocker boys! Steve thank you for your added insight and help. Simon, Raj, everyone thanks and see you all soon. Have a good flight Steve. Hope you make it to Deal's Gap .Garret

I love the tune, it feels great. next time steve comes down, i will have a larger turbo and hopefully it will put down more power
all in all, i had a great time, got to meet a lot of good people and got a great tune
I heard the Central Florida guys represented pretty well
Word on the street is that Aldo made the most power. Almost 400rwhp, even with some intercooler problems? And Garret, even though he wasn't getting tuned, made the most power out of the stock twins guys, 374rwhp?! Can't wait til I get back on the road

I am sorry you had problems Simon, but at least you got it tuned now. That turbo is on the small side for an FD. I bet down low it's pretty nice.
I wanted to come (to visit, not tune) - but we got caught up working on
my little 7. Replacing a leaking oil cooler that has been wreaking havoc on my garage floor.
So what where everybody Else's numbers? Didn't like 7-10 people have their cars dyno tuned?

a) Disappointed in their numbers, or
b) Haven't stopped driving yet because they are having too much fun.
Hopefully the latter, since only 2 people posted HP figures.

First, I wanted to thank Steve for the tune. The car runs great. I also wanted to thank Cam for giving us the place to do it. It was great meeting a lot of you and I look forward to seeing at a track event. Garrett, Thanks for all the help. I'll give you a call when I get back from Argertina.
