Preparation isnt the issue. The issue is that it would only be a couple of us funding a meet for 60 plus cars and probably twice that in people.

Here is the post from the last meet. clearly it was posted that there was no food or drinks at this meet. maybe you missed it when you read the post or maybe like 90% of others, heard about the meet from a freind and showed up. either way, it was noted, like i do every year, that you must bring your own food.

This is the biggest Rotary Powered Vehicle Meet in South Florida. I don't know of any other this size. We usually have between 50-70 cars.

here is a vid of last years event produced by a fellow mazda owner and rotary lover. if this vid doesn't get you excited about the meet, you don't love rotary's

This year will be a little differnet. I donate money every year to the Covenant House. For those of you who don't know what it is, The Covenant House Florida reaches over 200 kids in the Ft. Lauderdale and Orlando areas through their street outreach programs, crisis shelters, and transitional housing programs. Their Ft. Lauderdale house opened in 1985. Then expanded to Orlando in 1995, making Covenant House Florida one of the state's largest private agencies providing services to runaway and homeless youth.

I will go around taking in donations for the Covenant House. 100% of the money will go to them. I will post how much money we raise for them. Every year we meet and have a good time. This year we will meet and raise money for a good cause. if you dont want to donate on the day of the meet and think that the money will only go to fund my FD, then you can donate through "ROTARY POWER" on the Cvenant House website. Here is the link http://www.firstgiving.com/fundraise...ez/rotarypower

Please make sure you donate through this link. THANKS!

Please add yourseld to to the list.

jorge is right. year one thru three had food. it was donations only. most people gave money but the people that ate the most never gave a penny for the food. this year we donated about $500 to charity. about $100 came from donations and the other $400 came from my pocket.

I should put together another meet, just been so busy. Last time I brought most of the food but others chipped in and got chips, soda and dogs. We had quite a turnout but it did cost me quite a bit. If people want to put something together we can, I went to Amelia Earhart park last weekend and it was really nice for being in Hialeah. You also don't have to pay for a spot (just a entrance fee for each car) and they have cooking areas and a really nice big grass area to play football or soccer. Where we were had a pretty big parking area too that had spots even though the park was busy.

That was the cake that said "RX7Club in Black!"
Phil/JT asked the Cuban lady at the bakery to inscribe the words "RX7Club" on cake

Cuban Lady asked "What Color?"

Phil / JT responds "In Black"

Cake gets picked up Saturday and box is opened and it says "RX7Club in Black!"

Wow... After being away from Miami for 10 yrs (come back every other year for family) Ive noticed a HUGE decline in FD's (and modified sports cars to boot)... Im driving my girl around and people look at my car like its a freaking ALIEN! Well, Im here for another week...If anyone wants to get together for a photo shoot or a hang out (went to the food trucks in Tropical park last week, not bad) hit me and let me know!

Hello, Im Coop, i just bought a 90 FC with an s4 t2 swap from lazrx7. As to a meet. I started a company with a good friend of mine and we want to one day have a brewery. So we have a warehouse where we make our beer and hang out and w/e. We have been trying to introduce more people to home brewing because we have a membership and you can come and make beer, and then take it home in either bottles or kegs. We can make anything you want, Monday i made a jack daniels beer, last week i made a chocolate chilli beer, we made star fruit ones, sugar cane w/e. I could clone miller light if somebody wanted it. But after hours like 7pm on the parking lot is empty. We could do a small meet, try some beer, learn to brew beer, hang out. I want to meet as many of you guys as I can. Ill run it by the other guy and plan for a day and then toss it up. Most likely be a week night. Its off of bird and backs up to the palmetto, so its off the beaten path quiet no heat its nice.

Pretty cool sounds good to me, let's see if there's others willing to meet up. Would this only be during a weekday or also weekends? Because most people only take their cars out on the weekends.
