Something Wrong With My 7?

Well if your smelling fuel, and there is a big "oil spot" on the floor something is definately wrong. What did the "oil spot" smell like? Oil or fuel?

This sounds like a leaky FPD, cuz I had the same problems. If it is, be careful as you car can actually catch on fire.

Welcome to the wonderful world of repairs...

i don't think that the oil in your garage has anything to do with your idle. can you see where the oil is comming from? be careful because on my last FD, i had one of my OMP lines go out on me and my whole engine caught on fire. Also, give us some more information so we can help you out!!!

check your TPS, that will cause erratic idles, also check all your vacuume hoses, make sure that none have come loose or broken, you should remove your UIM and really do a good check of everything. Good luck

here is a shop manual discription of your oil system to help you track your oil problem, if you need one of your vacuume system let me know and i will post it. also check for the common places, i.e. rear & front housings!

NO!

You still have a lot to learn about owning an FD. NEVER take it to MAZDA EVER! They will screw your car up even more.

If it smells like fuel, in your engine bay while the motor is cool, something is leaking. I know because ive had numerous problems with injectors, FPD's ect. Is it pulling any CEL's?

Simon is also right about the omp's. Don't let those suckers leak, or something very bad will happen. Try to track down the leak, and find out where its coming from.

About the idle, hundreds of things can cause an idle to rise. Bad UIM/LIM gaskets, vaccum leak, bad TPS etc...

just like oneflytrini said never bring it to mazda dealers. They are as good as you reading a manual while trying to fix your car. if you don't want to get down and dirty just bring it to a loacal rotary spcialist in your area(no i dont mean the mazda dealer).

This is the best information on owning a FD on rx7club.com

Just check the 7 Shops sticky at the top of the SE page, as Im feeling too lazy to copy and paste it. Tell Perry Ali sent you. Hopefully he is trustworthy, as I dont trust ANYONE anymore other than Phil. That SOB lives in Miami though

I cannot find anyone down here that can tune a PFC....i'm almost thinking of buying a datalogit and doing it myself. who knows? anyways, i'll try and make the moroso event.....the last one was great

You won't have to worry about Perry. Hes very good and he won't try to rob you by saying you need something when you don't.
