Some one tried to break into my FD!!! in Gainesville
Went out to my FD parked in the driveway and hit the Alarm button and my door did not release crawled in from the passenger side and tried to manually release the door lock and the lever will not budge..
as hot as it is out side i was getting hotter..
the actuator that opens the door is trying to move when i hit the alarm button
and i can see the door lock button move when i turn the key .. and the handle to open the door moves freely.. as i started to rip the door apart while its still locked i rolled down the window and noticed a little bend in the seal that touches the window on the inside of the car right above the door mechanism in the arm rest.. may be i am just freaking out but i dont remember that being there..
i leave my window cracked some times.. dont remember if i did last night..
and now my door wont open.. ]
need help

does your door handle on the outside stay lifted adter you let it gop? If so it sounds as though your latch mechanism on the inside of the handle assembly has broken. Mine just did the same thing.
You can easily check the outside latch by removing the ineer black trim piece and removing the 2 10mm head bolts. This will alow you to pull the whole assembly off the outside of the door and check the condition of the latch. You may have just the rods that are operated by the lever detached for some reason. It will be fairly obviouse when you pulkl it off to see what is up if anything at the top end. Otherwise remove the door panel and investigate further in the door.
If the inside lever will not open the door you may be right that somebody was messing with it.
If that is the case then the above comment holds true because these are the easiest cars to break into. I locked my key in the car once at the hardware store and i just got a flat piece of metal strapping, notched one end and used it as a slim jim. I unlocked and opened the door in less than 10 seconds. WAY to easy to break into. So yeah if they did try they suck *** and should look for a new " profession"
