Sofla Exhaust laws???

So cerintly my rx has no exhaust pipes on it, there sitting behind the driver seat and i really don't want to put them back on and was going to get a pipe made that drops out the side of the car right before the rear wheel and need to know if any one knows or has documentation on the laws in south Florida about emissions and mufflers. a cop told me that most cars more then 25 years fall into the classic car category and have different rules but need less to say i need to know the details before i do anything.

well no emmisions or really big exhaust issues in south fla but if your usualy caught at the local hangouts/races or places that you know you shouldnt be yes most likely youll get an exhaust ticket but if your not into that and your just cruising and you know yourself that it isnt that loud youll be fine trust me youll know whats to loud right away...

Last year I went with a resonator in the center along with Magnaflows out back and the car is noisy... I got pulled over and got a $78.00 ticket for it... then i went to Miami Muffler and they hooked me up with a Dynomax Chambered center muffler and i was in heaven. Last month I had to replace the Dynomax and got a stainless steel center muffler but it was not chambered so i have noise again.. since I am NA it makes more noise.. cant wait to get the Magnaflow Chambered center muffler..

i want to get my pipes bent and set up and have the stock muffaler welded on in the center of the hole thing but have them cut opena nd gutted so they look like real shock muffalers up under the car so it's like having a strate set up pipes that look muffled =P

.

i got one just crusing down the turnpike at 70mph and i don't consider my car loud. it all depends on the police officers mood. he explained that my exhaust was too loud but could not provide me with a threshold decible reading nor did he have a decible meter in his car

i guess he had one implanted in his ear nevertheless i kept my mouth shut, took the ticket and paid it (non-moving violation).

Since I started driving, I have yet to get pulled over for a loud exhaust and I have had some really LOUD cars in my time. Even my latest SE is extremely loud and I haven't been hassled yet.....

A guy in my apt has a Silvia (s14 i think) and he has a race pipe, 100% strate pipe from headers to rear but he only takes it out every few weeks to go drag or something, maybe to drift but he doesn't drive it on the street alot but it's ******* loud and pisses every one off when he gets back a 4am. i need to ask him where he's running it.
