So Fla RX Club Elections
So Fla Rx Club Elections for Board Members
A lot of people seem to be unhappy with the way the club is made up. From talking to a few people the general idea is that the club should have yearly elections to make up the Board of Directors, so that way if someone does not get along with a person on the board they dont have to shy away from the club all the time. They could always come back with the changes. Not to take anything from Val which he has done a great job in getting the meets and some of the other things organized and accomplished. Val should have the opportunity to get re-elected if the majority votes for him but other people should have the chance to run against him, then again this isn't a Communist Party. If you feel you have what it takes then you should put yourself on the list that you want to become part of the Board of Directors. I hope this does not offend any of the current members on the board as all of you have a chance to get re-elected if you choose to run. :smiley_12
As u can see from our last meet not to many people are happy with the club as it is. A total of 6 people attended.

I agree with you Kandela, with should have an election and have the majority of the members select the board of officers. I won't be running for any positions, but I will continue to participate on all the events and support the rotary club.

So it will be a yearly thing then...
at present the officers that i have appointed for one reason or another and I will not get into specifics have not done what I have requested of them. Support is what I have needed to make this work and I have not gotten it.. i thought that the persons i have appointed have had personal issues in their own lives respectively and that has been an impediment in fulfilling the tasks of which I assigned them to do...
therefore the positions of Vice Pres,
Treasurer,
Coordinator are vacant at present.
The Secretary position held by Devin is fine as it is because he has done what he said he would do.
I will be collecting the funds for the ballcaps hopefully today Thursday to get them ordered.
There were two persons who shall be nameless who voiced frustration over the order of the ballcpas , shirts etc and were concerned with the funds. This will be kept confidential as not to raise any more animosity.
I sent emails only to the officers privately and in no way should Vilmarie have posted it on this very public forum... that was not authorised and the emails that i have written to the officers should not be for all to read. That is just simply a discussion amongst the officers.
I will remain in touch with all and place the order for the ballcaps and shirts as required as soon as I receive the funds from Vilmarie.

Okay....convention center has been rented in Orlando on International Drive. Celebrity appearances have been scheduled, refreshments being negotiated and 3 live bands have been acquired. A slush fund has been set up to bribe local officials and law enforcement, so underage drinking won't be a problem. This election may turn out to be the social event of the year.
On a sad note, my wife has vetoed my paticipation in this election, saying it's too far to drive from Jacksonville to Miami to be a part of a car club and I have to cut the grass this weekend.
Besides, my probation officer wouldn't let me leave the county.
You guys go ahead....you have some good people down there. I'm sure once the right people are in place to organize and manage your efforts, your club will be successful and many doors will open up, providing good timeas and good deals. Good luck....

A election for any club is the only way to almost guarantee an accurate representation of perspectives and avoid accusations of bias from the skeptics who feel misrepresented or not represented at all. Elected Board Members of an organization best depict the true preferences of the attending membership, thus gaining the support of not only the members, but of potential sponsors as well.

Ok.. so the positions that need to be filled are the following:

I really need people that are willing to devote some time and be accessible and lend support. Since its inception in March 2005 I have been doing it all on my own and even though the meets and venues have been successful it has taken its toll on me. This last go around I thought I had a good support team but it became apparent that it was not the case when two members of the team failed to complete their nominal tasks and accessibility was blocked by personal issues.
I have had a clear vision as to what I wanted the club to represent and it will be reached and at present I have spoken to several persons that may be able to fill those shoes and walk along with me to reach our goal.
Tomorrow I will be placing the order for the ballcaps and shirts with some of the members who will provide me with their funds and then will seek to get reimbursed by Vilmarie on Sept 14th who at present has those funds. This is an order that should have been placed about 4 weeks ago but possession truly is nine tenths of the law and our treasurer has those funds in their possession. So I will place a separate order so we can have some results because that is what I am about.
