I'll vote for a date... but I say skip Columbia and lets do an upstate meet w/ the driving. We haven't done that in a while. March = people not needing cars tuned have something to do thats fun, April = people needing and getting tunes get that taken care of.

If we do Columbia then in April, I probably won't stay too long... I'll show up for pictures and to hang out for a while but after that I'll just go drive or something.

a March Upstate meet will be for the purpose of driving since we won't get a chance to do one during the April tuning

I might be able to finally debut my grey '87 rx7.
One thing about it is the suspension sucks, so I wouldn't want to drive it in the mountains.
But I probably will, to get some break-in miles on it.

I know there are a few newbie rx7 owners in the Irmo area, we can probably find them at the ricer meet.

Either place doesn't matter to me so ill vote for both.

One question I have with the poll is why is there 2 dates for this meet?

Damn, it's a manual tranny. Parts are cheep. Yank the SOB out and fix it.

What do you mean 'took a ****'? Won't shift into gear? grinds? sticks in a gear? makes a God-awful noise all the time?

Last time I coupletely rebuilt a T56, I limped it to a friend's shop at 2pm, benchpressed it out, tore it down to the last snap ring, put it together, benchpressed it in, and I was on my way home at 11pm.

Anyway, PM if you wanna continue talking about it. Don't want to get off on a tangent so early in the thread.

On a good note, my car is kicking some *** and looking pretty friggin fine. When you get in with a lady, if you listen very close, you can hear the dash say,

"take off your pants.....

take off your pants"

As long as I can get a day off somewhere in my schedule, I'll be there.

If you're actually missing a gear and a gear with teeth, you're looking at ~$50 each for a new gear, if you have to tear it down.

Or, hell, just buy a new one from the classifieds. I've sold them before for $150.

I voted for the upstate myself, cause I don't like Columbia nor would it be worth driving that far. Besides, It's time to check out some new roads. Maybe Chimney Rock to Asheville, Trey you know the roads I speak of?

74-A? i've driven it several times..will be driving it on the 24th...

i've chatted with a few people about doing something like that, but we still have to drive an our from inman to get to 74-A and then there are limited roads off 74-a that are entertaining...so we drive an hour to 276 and have it and 278 to play on...

about the only good loop with 74a would be like...i26 -> 64 (towards Lake Lure) -> 74a to fairview -> u-turn and come back 74a to lake lure -> old #9 to old fort rd, down the mountain to old fort then some residental back roads back to lake lure and then either #9 down to SC or 64 to i26 back to SC...not really that great in my opinion for a meet...

now running 63 up and over the mountain and then turn right towards hot springs is a good run, but that gets us up close to Tenn and i'm not sure every one who comes from charleston is willing to drive THAT far

maybe we do another 178 -> 215 -> parkway (but probably not open) so -> 276 -> ceasar's head :-D u know, a good 4 - 5 hour trip once we get started

and eli...its with an A (tray that is...)

I know how to spell your name lmao, and when you spell my name w/ an upper case "E" instead of eli, then you'll get your "a" lol. I dont care what we do, but non of my idea's are ever kosher w/ the exception of the Rotary Parkway run, and it IS closed rite now . I guess we can just do what we always do, at least its in my neighborhood.
