If this guy goes I might have to make the trip as well.... to give him a swift kick in the *** for selling me a popped motor that was "good but taken out to do a v8 swap".
I'd imagine chucktown being super crowded on labor day weekend..

forgot to add the j/k part.
I pretty much expected it to be blown when you were letting it go for that price. I ended up giving it away a few months ago. The car i got from you sure is ugly, but no smoke at all, from startup to redline, so that's always good.

if you buy an RE motor i would suggest rebuilding it, because most imported rotary engines are blown or have been severely abbused. i know they say they guarentee startup, but thats a bunch of bs. then there are those select few that get lucky and get a perfect engine.
id say just sell your car and buy a Tii. that is the cheapest and easiest way by far. ask me how i know.

haha the paint humm well probly the worse idea ever and yes it was the primer push start the starter was mest up when i bought it so for a short time i was push starting it. and you really dont even wanna here the paint story. but that car was a really good car to me like you said no smoke and no hot start either. it was verry dependable and the window swiches actually worked well they didnt but i cleened them up and then they worked i wish i had some dialetric grease at the time i would have put some of that in there so that wouldnt happen again. im happy to hear that my old car is doing good and if you want man ill come down some weekend and sand it all down with you and primer it.

Yeah don't forget that this weekend is also when college football starts, so I say we go for a drive, maybe to the beach, and then party @ Chips with brews, food, and football!

not difficult to put in, but really difficult to get running. ie, you must run a standalone. have to make a custom downpipe or go single (but still need the downpipe) then you also need the drivetrain swap.(i guess you could still use the na drivetrain, but all i can say when it breaks is, i told you so.) dont forget aftermarket flywheel since they are all auto's. and motor mount relocation brackets ($200) then there is always a bunch of odds and ends that you forget about until you run into them.
As for the downpipe, you're right. It'll have to be custom, but that isn't that big of a deal.
Motor mounts: I happen to know where he can get a set right now for about $175. I still have the ones from my old setup.
Transmission: With a turbo motor that you're planning to make any real power, you will be better off going with a turbo drivetrain. I happen to have that (including an ACT clutch) sitting around here as well. LOL. I would suggest an upgraded radiator if you don't already have one, and you will NEED a front mount IC as there is no really good way to go top mount on the RE.

Dregg, you're partially right. It's fairly easy to get up and running. If you have a turbo ECU and harness, you can make the car drive around just fine but you won't have sequential twins. They'll have to be set up to run non-sequentially. The better way would be a standalone unit as you mentioned. If he goes that route, I'm still able to get Haltech's and will also do installations. I'm just finishing up on an E8 in a local 10th AE.

Good point, but it's not always easy to find a good TII to work with.
