Saturdays In Raleigh/RRDI - UPDATE
For those who've been wondering what happened to the original thread and why no one has been at the Char Grille....
Where ya been?
We had the original thread closed for various reasons, the main being we went back to using our own website http://rrdi.org/. It makes it much easier to post, chat and whatever. We also agreed Char Grille was getting old, smelly and not convienient for everyone. We've had a lot of new members joining up on the site and at the meets and have been making changes to the club and the website (with more to come) and would like to have everyone involved again.
In case you were wondering where we've been... we're holding the meets at Sonic on Atlantic Ave and Grill 57 in Garner on the 2nd/4th Saturdays at 6:30pm.
What you've missed - a cookout at Falls Lake, a beach meet, Frankies go-karts, movies and more...
What you're libel to miss - Virginia International Racway Oak Tree Nationals and GT LIVE, Brotherhood of the Dragon, more Frankies, another beach meet...
Oak Tree Nationals at VIR August 11-12 - there will be an RX-8 club from Charlotte that we will be meeting up with there on Saturday and then they will join us that night at Sonics for our meet. On Sunday we will all meet at Cracker Barrel at 6:30am for breakfast then caravaning (leaving at 8:00am) to VIR for the races. We're also looking into getting our own speacial area on the skid pad for parking and then a "group only" run during parade laps.
GT LIVE at VIR October 5-7 - the return of one of the most exciting events to hit VIR in many years. The GT LIVE/KONI Challenge Series Weekend will bring back the multi-faceted “motorsports theme park” of GT LIVE, including drifting, time attack, karting, rallying, stunt bikes, car and bike shows and music, that was so popular with young enthusiasts last year. Joining GT LIVE again will be the KONI Challenge Series (formerly known as the Grand-Am Cup Series), which will end its 2007 season with a pair of six-hour endurance races for the Grand Sports (GS) and Street Tuner (ST) classes. We will again have special parking in the paddock area for our club as last year, and maybe a member or two taking part in some of the events.
If you missed the Deals Gap Rotary Rally (Tail of the Draon 318 turns in 11 miles) this past April there will be another roatry event put on by the RX-8 club September 5th-9th.
There are also plans being made for another beach meet later this year, hitting Frankies again (way too much fun last time) and catching some more movies.
Like said, the club is growing and changing and we would like to see everyone get back involved again.

I should have used a spell checker... geeze I hate using this laptop sometimes. How the hell do you clean a keyboard on one of these things? With my desktop I just open it up or drop it in the bath hah!
