Yeah I know... not that funny. So how is the new carpet smell. I've thought about at some point redoing the carpet in the Vert at some point. It looks pretty bad in spots from leaks and being caught with the top down among other things from the previous owner.

David did some research the other night, so we might still be taking the FC to DGRR. Stay tuned.

Like the rotors, now you got a 4 rotor FD, 2 under the hood and 2 under the dash.
Thanks. I haven't really noticed whether mine are gripping any more than the stock ones, but they sure do look better. And they are definitely better all around than Ebay crap. I got some of the GoodYear/Adidas shoes last night too. I needed some slim shoes for driving it, right now I can have my foot on the gas and the brake pretty well at the same time, my version of "heel/toe" I guess, haha. I wouldn't even need turbos if I did have 4 rotors .

I wouldn't knock those pedals Greg, I've heard you can get a good 10HP from that mod. Or at least some good at-home HDPE, lol. The carpet smell was somewhat strong when I first picked it up but you can't really tell anymore. The more and more I look at the carpet, the more I find wrong with it, and I'm kinda disappointed. The carpet itself is nice, I like the feel and everything, the installation is what I'm not too happy about. Some of the mistakes made are hard to determine if it's something wrong with the mold or just the installation itself. When it comes down to it though, it was still free and you can't complain too much about that. It just seems that if you're going to be the mouthpiece for the whole deal, they'd do their best with everything to make you happy. That same place has carpet for FCs, and I remember them saying something about the vert and hardtop having slightly different floorpans or something but I could be wrong.

Eric, they do have a different cut to them. I see hardtop carpet new and used for sale all the time, hardly ever for verts. I've heard for the FC it's best it you pull the dash, did they do that on yours? I really want to start doing some things to the vert but can't decide where to start spending money first. It needs a new top, seats redone, carpet, shocks.... and try as I may I still can't seem to put a damn dent in those PepBoys Wynstar tires hah! 2 years of abuse and they look as good as the day I got the car. Well at least I can put the money saved on tires towards the other stuff.

They didn't pull the dash in mine, as far as I know. Just the center console. When the carpet goes up to meet the door sill and the center console, that's where it starts bunching up and either keeping panels from latching all the way or making it hard to move the seat back and forth. Yeah at least your tires are good so you can spend the money elsewhere. I know what you mean about where to start first though. My project is completely reverse of what I had planned, and you know why? The damn group buy section, haha.

Yeah I keep thinking that should be first but shocks would be fun hah! Actually it needs shocks as bad or worse than it needs a top. The main thing that bugs me is that with what it would cost to redo the top, then seats and carpet I could buy another damn car, and I'd really like to have another coupe. I'd also like a 3rd gen, a famous model for a girlfriend, a 3 car garage... What's a boy to do?

^Resist the urge Greg, just put money into the masterpiece you already have, haha.

I just heard a commercial on the radio that pissed me off, here's the thread I already started about it, haha.

Saw a white 8 last night. ...I want one. rawr. This morning I saw one all souped up with green metallic flake paint... total show car... stickers, wing, etc. This car was the SEX. OK... frickin RX-8s... I want one now.

I want one in white. Yummy. I never even looked at the prices of one used until today. Around 21K for a decent one? Right on! I still want an FD, though, but an RX-8 for a daily would be nice. ...Warranty work, anyone??

Yeah, but think about what you can do with 21k- Buy a modded T2, FB, and a Turbo Miata (daily driver!)

Everytime i see a white RX8 I want one, badly. Saw one a few weeks ago with graphite wheels and low profile P-zero wheels (yellow tire lettering is distinctive from a distance) and it looked fantastic.

Then I think about what I could do with the $350 a month, and have second thoughts. If I could ever get my condo in chicago sold I think I would be at a mazda dealership the next day.

I'm not greedy, I'd settle for just the turbo on the Miata and a new paintjob for the FB

If I had 21K, I'd be driving an LS1 FD. (obviously that's if I buy the rolling chassis and do all the work myself.)

I found a lawyer. Called one of my friends' dads, who is a state trooper. He referred me to the guy. I'll be meeting him in the morning to sign my agreement and give him $$. He's only going to cost $250 plus court costs. Marcus Hill wanted $500 plus court costs. This guy explained all the info to me. He also let me in on a little known fact that frickin US1 is a speed trap right there in Cary because of the construction.

Anyway, the guy's going to have me go with him to the court appearance. He was formerly a police officer, and he says that it looks better if I am with him all dressed up, actually making an effort. The DA will be more inclined to help me get a good deal than if I were just a name on a stack of papers in a random lawyer's hand. I told him I'd be willing to do whatever necessary to get the best deal. He suggests that I can take a safe driving course like I did last time to help as an intiative as well. We'll see.

I will get to keep my license. Life is good.

Alright Mr. Spelling Bee, my bad. HPDE. Better?

Now I'm not sure about this Saturday...one of my buddies is leaving next week so he's having a party. He's crosstraining into Space Systems Operations, the job I was trying to get into 7 years ago. I might see about hanging with them for a while and still making it up there. It's been a while for me, wouldn't want to end up on the milk carton, but it looks like I might end up on there by the end of this year anyway.
