You know what's funny? The LAST battery that I had that was dead (before I got the one that I put in the fc) tested fine too at Advance Auto. And somehow, that battery was older than the engine... (battery 6 years old, engine 2 years old at that time)

I guess I've missed a lot in the past couple of days, can't figure out what everyone is talking about. I'll bring the RXTuner Magazine to the next Drive-In. I have been able to find Steve, his brother, maybe Jeremy and Jason, I think Johny is down at the shelter hanging around the food, my car was in the middle of the parking lot at that time, and a couple more people are in the shot somewhere. The article is pretty good but has some mistakes in it, the main one is it doesn't have any photos and the leaders of the pack, the RRDI drivers! We were already well along on the tail by the time most of the others showed up. Glad to see the event got some coverage though.

Yeah, the guy that wrote the article is actually the owner of the LS1 10TH AE. He was supposedly one of the leaders, but we left well ahead of everybody else. Of course his car made it in the magazine. I can't believe that didn't get any pictures of our group on the dragon, we were tearing it up through there

By the way, the TII is back on the road. I got it running last Friday. She seems to be running awesome. I couldn't believe how well it started up when I got the engine installed. It literally cranked right up without flooding and idled at 600 RPM's: Low i know, but it is pretty unheard of for a rebuilt motor to idle below 1000rpms. I, like everbody else am hoping to make it to the meet that Brian brings the 20B FD out. Once I find out the date, I am going to contact Bruce and see if he will come out as well. They are good friends from what he said. If we get the word out, we could have a pretty big meeting. I know there would be quite a few people that would like to meet the two of them. Maybe we could get some body to right up an article for RXTuner, especially since we have an aspiring writer in the group.

We are liking it where we are. I had my orientation today, school starts monday. Found employment in Hickory, i will be working at the Sears Auto Center there.

Dave is doing good also. He has beent trying to sell the car and get something better on gas, but he hasn't had much luck. Deep down i think he wants to keep it.

tell him money is only money, RX7 lasts forever. If he does sell it he'll always regret it. But I understand how it is when you're in school, and money seems always to be tight. Keeps us posted on how y'all are doing.

Are you telling us that Sears is now offering rotary maintenance, will they offer the same lifetime guarantee on Craftsman Rotary Engines as they do on Craftsman tools? If it ever breaks bring it in and we'll replace it free of charge? Good deal!

Yes we R! The rotary gathering will begin around 6:30 PM at the Char Grill on Stirckland Road. Come and join the fun, we're always excited when FBs show up, and I don't remember having an SA at a Drive-In. Bring'em on!

Johny, I don't think I'm going to make it up there for the races this weekend. I know Greg is going and probably Beth & Doug, Gary also will bring up their RX8s. I haven't heard who else plans on doing the drive up for the Saturday VIR 200. Understand about your Mom, take care of what's important, we all own rotaries and we'll always be available for you, that is except when we're driving our cars or working on our cars. :0)

Potential New Member

Got a call today from an RX8 owner named Josh, from Asheboro, who met Lance at the Zoo on Sunday. He said he wanted to find out more about the group and really like seeing all the rotaries at the Zoo. He has a Sunlight Silver 8 with an aero kit and other mods and will try to make it to Raleigh on Saturday! He also has a friend with an FD and will try to bring him along, that is if the FD is running then:0)

Hey Johny,

Really hope your Mom is going to be ok. Take care of her.

Bert,

Doug and I are confused about the VIR trip. I have it down for the 22nd of October, didn't know anything was going on this weekend. That is what I get for not checking the forums. Did we get our days wrong?

Anyway.. we made plans with our kids this weekend. We are going to be at the Char gril on Saturday but won't make it to VIR.

Nope Buddy me too! It takes awhile to do anything.

In response to "GTUser" I will bring my '78 RX-7 SA to the next Raleigh Meet after this one. There you can all see the infamous stock 5 Speed '78 RX-7 GS . Muaaaa... she is a project in the workings. Converting her to full leather interior in the same colour layout as my '93 FD with Tan and Black.

See you guys Saturday

"A guy named Dan from Greensboro" as bert likes to put it

Cheers,

Dan

What happened is that it was originally announced for 10/22 but the dates on the VIR website were wrong, the schedule changed after the race date was announced on the forum. It was just a mix up with the VIR website. I hear its gonna be raining all weekend anyway.

Josh, where do you work, we'll all come around today and harass you, your boss, the customers until you get fired and you can come to the Drive-In early and stay late! Problem solved! Oh wait, don't you own an FD? Bummer, you need a job for the money so that you can keep her running. In that case we'll stay away and forgive you for showing up late. Oh wait, don't you drive an FD? You're always late! We got no problem then. Come when you can.

We should have a good turnout if the rain will stay away. Y'all come on out and enjoy the fun and bring money for T-shirts! Need to have all orders and payments in this month.

The weather is cooling off and you might want to think about a Long Sleeve T for the coming cool evenings. I hear Girls like rotaries and love cuddling up in oversized, long sleeve, RRDI T-shirts when they get to ride in rotary powered monsters. How great would you guys appear if your date commented on how chilly it was and you could open a rear bin and pull out a neatly folded, black, XL RRDI black t-shirt for her to put on. OK, forget the neatly folded part, at least store it in a ziploc bag. This simple gesture would subtly communicate how thoughtful and sensitive you are to the needs of others, and most of all how understanding and prepared you are to meet your date's needs. And the greatest thing about that is that you were willing to spend the extra money to insure her comfort, so you are a thoughtful, kind, considerate, and prepared guy who drives an awesome car.

Sorry, no pics from this DI, too dark and rainy last night. We had a pretty good turnout for a rainy Saturday evening. Greg, Ray, and I brought out our FCs, Red-White-Black. Dan drove in from the Greensboro area in his MB FD and Josh did show up around 9:30 in his FD, and we had the Shinka duo, Lance in the Pepper Red RX8 and Gary in his classic TiGray 8, we even had Dav and his date stop by for a visit between cruises.

Small turnout as far as numbers but we had a great time reliving last Sunday's Rotary Rendezvous at the Zoo, discussing a new idea, weekend drives, and talking about some other ideas for offering a greater variety of options for RRDI members. T-Shirts are in progress toward final artwork from the artist and waiting on finals for approval before they go to printing.

Next weekend we'll hold the first weekend drive. The idea is for all those interested and available to meet early on either Saturday or Sunday mornings, have breakfast together, and go on a drive on some backroads and combine some of the drives with scavenger hunts to collect information or items along the way, timed runs over a predetermined circuit following driving directions, that may or may not be clear and straight forward, to finish the course in a predetermined time - Rotary Road Rally, RRR. Other ideas welcomed. We also played "where's Waldo" with the Fontana Dam Parking Lot picture in the most recent issue of RX Tuner, everyone that went to the Rotaries at Deals Gap Rally tried to find themselves and their car in the parking lot photo.

Everyone interested in going to the NC Sate Fair this month remember Christina's planning a group trip to the fair on one of its weekends. Post on that thread and let her know you're planning on joining us. I think we're planning on caravaning thru the fairgrounds instead of walking and putting up with the crowds, heck, the exhaust fumes alone will drive away most of the people! We'll just park where we want and do what we want, after all we own rotaries! Hit Christina up for the details.

The weather was bad but the food and rotary comraderie was great, appreciated Lance making it out with his future rotorheads and Dave bringing Christina by in her salsa dress, it was nice seeing her all dressed up just for us, maybe not for us.

To Whome ever it was I was talking to about my FD's compression test the compression tester was in Bars. My car did a

6.3, 6.2, 6.7 BAR = Averaged to " 92.8 PSI " on the first rotor
6.5, 6.8, 6.3 BAR = Averaged to " 94.8 PSI " on the Second Rotor

So I think the motor is pretty healthy if those numbers mean anything Good I don't know.
