From a cold start.
I have a 91 rx7 that starts fine. After the tach drops down from 3000 rpms, to around 1000, the engine surges between 1000 and 1500rpm. After it worms up even more it stops and idles constant 700rpm. Also after about 15 minutes of driving the check engine light comes on and at that point if I press on the gas about half way down it runs a little sluggish. If I push on the gas just a little bit, It accelerates fine. If I turn the car off and let it cool down it runs fine again for 10,15 minutes, then engine light comes back on again and accelerates sluggishly again.
Any suggestions?

Some say the tps is not working.
If this is true where is the best place to get one,other than Advance auto which charges 188.00 for one.

The TPS is expensive anywhere. It's probably just out of adjustment though. Search the 2nd gen section for adjusting the TPS. All you need is a multimeter.

 

Hey Rich, try to get ahold of me....again. We can adjust the TPS and go from there. The sluggishness could also be an OMP issue. We can pull the codes and go from there. Paul might have any parts you might need.

Did you buy that sweet S5 vert that was on Craigslist a few months back? It matches the description!
