Rims Stolen off '94 seven in Miami

Hey guys,

I'm a miami local who reads alot and never post. Anyway I wanted to let out my frustratuion. My rims were stolen this past saturday night, to leave my seven sitting on blocks which cracked and sat on the front hubs all night. They were able to do this in my condominium garage which has security checks every hour. I am sure it did not take long for them to break the wheel locks and take the wheels. The worst part about this whole things is they were not even very good rims. ADR M-Sports. Although they were wraped in nice toyo t1-s. Anyway, sometimes this can be a small world, so if you catch word of someone trying to sell any ADR M-sports 18"x8.5 and 18x9.5" wraped in toyo t1-s without an original invoice, report them to the police department and PM me so I can bring over a blow tourch and a pair of plyers. Thanks all.

Are there no cameras in the garage? At least at the entrance/exit? Wouldn't hurt to question the security gaurd on duty that night.

You say that you are a Miami local but your location below your Avatar says Hollywood.

Did you have an alarm system ? Its kind of odd that if you did that it wouldnt sound ...

Also I havent met you before or you have not come out to the meets.. I find it that some people who tell me that they know of the meets but never go for fear of getting their **** took are actually the ones that get their cars or property stolen.

I dont know of anyone who is in the club that comes to the meets that has had a problem with things coming up missing. So perhaps it would be a good idea to get more involved not necessarily with the meets but on the forum as well.. the more you become familiar i believe the less chance you will be faced with thievery. Why would that person want to mess with a guy that everyone knows.. are you feeling me ?

Its rather unfortunate that it happened... it really is.

I hope the blow torch and pliers are for use on the piece of scum that took your rims! I really want to beat the **** outta whoever did that, honestly. With a tire iron or bat too, nothing as soft as fists, haha. They deserve the worst, I'm really sorry to hear it. I hope you find whoever it is and **** them up. Good luck.

Wait, so you had wheel locks and they still stole them? Isnt it impossible to steal wheels with wheel locks unless you cut the rim in half?

purerx7...
All one has to do is remove the other lug nuts and then snap off the last remaining one that has the lock on it... pretty simple.. at least that is how they did it in NY. or you can use a large socket with tips cut that fits over the locking lug nuts and then it sinks in and helps to remove them

Depends on the type of wheel lock. Most of them just require a socket. Either that or they have copys of wheel lock keys...majority or pretty standardized.

Yeah, I used to live in hollywood, but moved to miami 2 years ago. I never have gone to any of the meets not because of fear of getting anything stolen but just lack of time and other comitments. I have lived at this location for 2 years with out any problems and have had my seven in south florida for over 6-7 years without any problems. Seems like I was targeted, but like I said before, these are not the type of rims to target someone for. I guess **** happens to the best of us. Just keep a watchful eye on your cars and aways have good insurance. State Farm has been great so far and is more than willing to pay for the loss.
They positive thing is atleast they were not fiske's, foregline or some other high performance rim that would cost quadruple what ADR rims cost.

I know that ADR no longer makes that wheel in that type of finish... I tried getting some of those for one of the guys in the club... I also deal with HRE wheels... pricey but they are nice... and people like them... Anyway.. try to make it out to the meets... . i believe that when you become known like that you are least likely to have something stolen from you.. I say this because years ago I belonged to a GSX-R club and the guys that were in it didnt have their bikes stolen or panels taken off. In this club we havent had an incident where someones things or car has been stolen. It seems to only happen to people outside of this network. It would lead me to believe that whoever took your wheels knew that you didnt hang with other rotaries because this tight knit family takes and looks out for their Brethren. Its only my observation and opinion.

Sorry to see the pics and your loss...
Brings back BAD memories when I woke up one Sunday morning to go to church with the wife and I found my Honda Accord in the same position. Bastards took all 4 rims and left behind a Crysler jack on the floor. Worst part is the cops wouldn't even take the jack to finger print it. Lazy *******. Oh well good luck and hopefully you'll run across them.

I seem to remember that RX-7 bolt pattern/wheel set etc fits just RX-7's.
If that's the case it makes them easier to find, since they can only be sold to another RX-7.

Anybody know if this is true, what years and so forth.

Then you can do search's using Google etc.

Remember "Where there's a lock, there's a lock picker"

I had a professional Specialized bicycle that was stolen and I was able to recover it a few days later.. I engraved my FL Drivers license number on the bike and when the bike was taken to a Pawn Shop the shop owner called the cops of course to check if anything that he recieves was hot. The cops told him that my bike was on the Hot List .. so the pawnbroker told the guy to hang out that he was talking to his boss about getting him a better deal $$$.. a few minutes later the police came in and arrested the thief. It turns out the ****** had a lot of stolen **** at his crib.

I had the same thing happen to me a few years back when I lived in FT lauderdale. It was a condo in a gated community with one way in and one way out.

The rims were motorform Circs in chrome. They left the car on bricks. A friend of mine actually spotted them on another car. He delivered pizza and by chance happened to see them.

He notified me. I had my SS number engraved in each wheel, under the tire. I went to the cops. They could not do anything for me. I went again, they stated they would need a search warrant and they could not get one.

I ended up having to get the wheels back myself. If you do happen to find your wheels which I have a feeling you might. Contact me if the police do not help you and I will tell you what I did to get them back. (nothing violent or hurting anyone or anything bad at all)

Go to the track events at Moroso and you might just see them on another car there or the local race spots etc.....

Good luck.

Anthony

Thats why it really makes me want to either chrome or polish my stockers put a spacer on them to space them out alittle bit for a flush look and be done with it.

No one wants the stockers unless they are deperate or somthing like that.

I hope you find them and get who did it.
