Hi,
I Let fuego close my motors now
and I do the rest on my car

you need a rebuild right?
Str8Down even tho he bitches about pollution **** removed etc
the "rebuild" came out fine with Jose "fuego"

All depends on your budget really
Kilo will want you to have "MINT" or will want you to buy brand new rotors and housings
or he will not even touch the motor.........

Yep I can see lots of opinions on this... Well I'm not gonna worry about it too much (tho i think its natural to want to find the best choice.) Ill let you guys what I decide and how it turns out.

Funny tho, no one can vouch for Ortiz?

I will say, that is correct. All the problems and stuff he ruined is unique to the FD. He may very well know how to rebuild an actual rotary block, but beyond that he is clueless. But I think the point you are missing is his ethics. He takes on work that he already knows he can't complete, because he doesn't understand it. So he builds it the way he chooses, and when confronted, he simply tried to "fool" me by replacing things and not hooking them up, hoping would never dive into it and take it apart to see.

I just got my car back running 2 days ago, I had to strip it all the way to the block, and purchase MANY parts that he removed from my car and either kept or discarded. It runs amazing now, so I will assume he can build a block, but that's it. Like I said though, the moral of the story is he is an unscrupulious individual, and will screw you if he needs to.

Okay well i had first experience with seeing and meeting all the fellas at Fuego Racing. I drove to Orlando and sold my T2 today fellas. But i did pick up the most ******* cherry 91 vert that i have seen in at least 6-7 yrs. absolutely flawless, i will have pix tomorrow.

But the new owner of my t2 wanted me to meet him at this place that way we could kill 2 birds w/ one stone.

As we unloaded the carr i got a good look at evrything there.

First i will say this. The place is small..........very small. Has a huge sign that reads Fuego racing, RX7 Specialists. Looks good i might add.

But way too many cars/projects going on behind it. BAd for PR.

But the most unatractive thing i noticed was just The area. It is on the south side of OBT and i saw at least 10 hookers and countless bums and crackheads!

They were hard at wrk {fuego), and had alot of things going on at one time. We will see when the rebuils is complete if all the horror stories are true. Hopefuly not because the guy who bought my T2 is a good guy and this is his first RX-7.

I will keep you all posted.

I can vouch for what Str8down says about the condition of his parts and car post Fuego. What the shop did was not sloppy or slipshod it was unethical bordering on criminal. If you could actually prove it in court it would be criminal. The shop took good parts off and replaced them with modified/defective parts.

Driving Force, the rotary shop off Phillips Hwy in JAX closed and Ron Church supposedly left for Tampa. His Father still has a shop on Beach or Atlantic by the same name but not a rotary specific shop. Ron stiffed me for parts and money when he left. Good guy just hit some tough times.

If I was dumb enough to take it there in the first place, I would, but instead I'll point out the horrible mistakes that have already been made.

I think I'd have a hard time taking my car to anyone who runs a shop out of their backyard, at least for an engine rebuild. I don't care what anybody's "boys" say about it, if you take the liberty of modifying someones engine/turbos/drink machine without it actually being on the work order, then what the hell are you doing? It's not your car, so don't screw with it.

If you want to save a buck and take it to somebody's backyard, then roll the dice. You know what you're getting when you take it to a shop that actually has a garrage instead of a lean-to.
