Paint Shops in the ATL Area? Who would you use

What recomendations do you guys have for a couple of projects that I need done.

1. I need to get my 99 front bumper painted to match my car.

2. I need to get the Grand National a paint job thats of real good quality not some maco crap. This could be in the $1000-2000 range.

Who would you guys get to do either or both of these and why.

Thanx
Jeremy

Jeremy,
Long time since I last posted... If you can wait, I am buying a body shop and i can guarantee you first rate work!!

If you cant wait, go to hotwheels in marietta. Tell holts Jonathan sent you and he will def take care of you.. A bumper should be $300 to paint.

Good paint costs. Don't go cheap. You would do better to wait until you have what it will need to take to do it right, rather than go for cheap.

A paint job where I used to work back in the day (collision care) was between 2500-3k...that included basic prep and primer......Im sure a GOOD paint job woul probably be more....you can save money by doing the prep work your self....but Im sure you know, the paint jobs only as good as the prep

Front bumper - 500 tops.

Depending on the shop, 1200 might get you a decent paint job for the Grand National. I was going to spend about that much to redo the red/pink 89 TII at my friend's place. He painted the FD way back in 1996 and it turned out great. So slick on the clearcoat that he didn't have to touch it with the wetsander.

A gallon of good (non-reject) paint can run $700 by itself. That's not figuring for all of the primer, sealer, sandpaper, etc. that has to be used.

Eh, if maco can do a full car over paint with not sanding and priming for $300 then a good paint shop should do a good paint job for around 2K IMO. Im gonna do all the prep work myself so thats a mute point. Im not lookikng for show quality on the GN just dont want it to flake and chip or the clear to peal 6 months after the paint. For $700 a Gal of paint ill just buy the paint myself and take it to the paintshop.

i could paint your car if someone has a booth for me to paint in. and tools ofcourse. i wont do any prep work. also, my teacher ( auto body teacher ) said that most reputable shiops will not take cars that are pre primered.

The paint that Maaco uses on there 250 job is a single stage shitty *** paint...No clear...700 a gallon is good....some **** is 700 a QUART....that maaco job is like the bare minimum amount of paint you can put on a car and say it has been painted....I think they still advertise that special but at "participating locations" and good luck finding one...they dont do it anymore because paint is so expensive

Go to sung's he does all my work. If you want to see some if his work look in the new modified mag, there is a white 350z that he did all the body work for. Plus if you go to his shop you can see his rx7 that he painted some bmw blue.

Another thumbs up for Kongs Body Shop. Sung did my BMW M Roadster after some a-hole back into it in a parking lot and it looks perfect! Daniel, Carson, and I have seen a lot of his work and know he is top notch.
