Well Tommy I'm not sure if the White One III is ready for you guys. She's kind of sensitive, if you know what I mean.

Besides, Mike is more religious than me, his back yard would be better for the pagan stuff.

Also he knows how to cook steaks, which I don't.

Plus he lives in a MacMansion, with lots of bedrooms in case Paul wants to split up his travels.

But I'm yacking, I'd better ask Mike.

It's about 200+ miles to north side of Atalanta. I have a nephew there I can stay with if I wait to come back next day. I may come back same evening too. Don't know yet. I've got mind oil leak which I think is coming from the pedestal that the filter sits on. Not crazy about the blow back on the undercarriage but guess I'll just have to clean it up later. Ray won't let me trailer it (do guys even like him??) so I'll pack a quart w me.

Martin, yes I am going to Alabama soon, over to Robert's house to help Mike make a 4 port 13B with Paul's 6 port SE motor.

Jeremy, yes the Mitty simply can't be missed. What's the marque this year?

Maybe we should do the May OGTA meeting at the Mitty ?!!?

I can bring the OGTA sign, we can set up tents and stay all night.

Jeremy, I agree, FORD is nothing special, I didn't even know they made sports cars.

But you know there's gonna be some FB's out there strutting their stuff, showing the mustangs who's boss.

Ford did make a glorious GT40.. One my favorites of all time in the 60's. They brought it back in 06 for a couple years.. Outstanding race car. My bones can do the camp in a tent thing anymore but I frequented Mid Ohio in the 80's-90's. SCCA, CART.. The Runoffs.. Damn good times... Wish I could remember them!!

Clutch

Ok you smart guys. When I first start my 7 the clutch hits right off the floor.. After a mile or so it comes back up to where it belongs.. Bad slave? Master cyl?

Are you leaking fluid?

I'd replace both hydraulic units, the master and slave, they are both inexpensive, check rockauto for details. Then bleed the whole system.

And the good news it it's easy to do! Saves all those garage bills from mechanics that don't know what they're doing in the first place.

As far as Fords and Mazdas go, I don't think they have anything in common.

Except at one point they were both owned by the same Capitalist Pigs.

Master cylinder replaced two years ago. Slave?? Probably original. I can get one from Black Dragon and a braided hose from RB. I see no leaks. But then again I'm not auto mechanic either.

As for Mazda and Ford?? Besides being owned by capitalist.. Pigs?? I'm not so sure they were pigs..But NO!!! Wrong answer.. Nobody knows what these two great companies accomplished?? And you guys are race fans??

I agree with replacing both. But I'll bet it is the master cylinder. (also get the braided s/s line)
I just did this work and have to say it did not fit my definition of "easy". Not complicated yes, but a pain in the rear to actually swap out the master.
Also, I had problems with the threads on the studs of the new master cylinder not being long enough (Rock Auto and Auto Zone). I ended up pulling the ones of the old unit and using them.

Yes that master is a definite PIA, you need to crawl up under the driver's side dash behind the clutch pedal to get to the nuts that hold it to the fire wall. Little people have an advantage here, and I as recall Paul you aren't one of these so you probably want to just go with the master you've got if it's in good shape, you're problem almost certainly resides in the slave cylinder.

If you do go with a new master, you may want to mention the issue with the short studs that Greg the Younger has raised to the rockauto people, they may be able to tell you which of their options would have the longer studs. But switching out the studs like Greg had to do isn't that much trouble, certainly worth the money saved.

I've got a question for you 13B gurus, a friend of mine wants to buy an 84 GSL-SE with a ported 6 port 13B from an FC, supposedly puts out 200 hp. He's heard that porting a 6 port 13B is not a good idea because the stock ports are already pretty much at max size, with the implication being that making the ports bigger will invite engine failure. What'da y'all think?

Getting close to May 1 but still haven't heard if this date is firm for a meeting. And, the meeting place hasn't been confirmed either. rain forecast for Sunday so let me know what's going on. I'm not inclined to drive it in wet weather.

On the other hand also consider my place for a future meet. It's not a MacMansion but it's a nice place to visit. Pics included.

Looks like we'd better skip the Home Boy May 1 OGTA Meeting.

I think DGRR 2016 has taken the wind out of everybody's sails ('cept me, of course).

And as Paul points out, there's a chance of a thunderstorm on May 1, which is too much risk for us guys over 50.

See y'all May 3.

So what's the low down on these ported 6 port 13B's, bad news or what???

I second that idea! The SA is almost back together and Im way past due for a weekend cruise. Just got a new title so hopefully i can get tags/insurance this week.

New carpet is installed, new crack free drash obtained, and interior well on its way to being back in one piece!

Please rotary gods let my oil pan hold back leaks and pray the ujoints were my only issues on the purchase trip! (Havent taken her out yet for obvious reasons but ujoints, tranny fluid, and shaft are all swapped and installed so i will find out soon enough)





By the Way, nice looking place tool guy!
