Has anybody in here heard of a Jacksonville/Tallahassee fella by the name of Ron Preacher? He did an excellent rebuild of my engine. I just wanted to know if anybody has heard of him or his work. In Jacksonville, he operated at Driving Force for a long time with Don Crisman.

Well how do you mean? You have piqued my interest now. Send me a pm or something.

In all honesty, my experience was good. He tore my old motor apart in front of me, *tossed all my old seals* in the same fashion and did my street port. When it was time for reassembly, he called me in and showed me how to do it, as it was the first rotary I had done and had me do it. Now I'm 5k into the build and not even a hiccup.

pettit racing is amazing!! they did my rebuild and my turbo rebuild, I highly recommend them!

So is this Alex Lopez guy still around or no?

Just had my car tunned by Roger at Pros/Japtrix in West Palm.
Well worth the 70 mile drive. Car runs awesome now. Roger is extremely knowledgeable and i could not have asked for more. If you have been hesitant about who to trust for a tune like i was, This where you need to go. |

I bought my FC from that guy. He's awesome! Lots of neat projects he has around the shop too.
He also rebuilt my Cosmo when the water seals went out recently (20B). I don't trust many shops with a rotary motor and even less with such a rare import as the Cosmo, but I felt confident leaving it with Roger. He deals with many rare imports. He always kept me updated with the progress and his son sent me a few photos as well. When I got it back it looked like it had never even left the engine bay (ninja swap). It runs very strong and smooth. Only had one hiccup where the car shut down and was stuck on the side of the road. He offered to have a tow truck come out and get me so he could fix it. Turned out to be the stock bov cap popped off which I don't believe is his fault, so I popped it back on and I'm looking into getting an aftermarket one. He's also in the process of rebuilding the engine for my race car. He's very honest. I knew the motor was pretty fresh, but coming from Japan and sitting for a little while I wanted to refresh it just in case. He confirmed it was very clean and only recommend what I needed (Gasket set, side seals) He also has provided a warranty for his work. The FC I bought from him and the Cosmo both got 12mo warranty. I'm not sure if he will warranty the race motor because of the conditions it will see, but he's a good guy and I know he'll help me out. I think his prices are extremely fair for the quality of work he does. It's not the cheapest, but by far not the most expensive either. Highly recommend them. |
That's awesome. Know if roger does any work with Rteks?
Also any of you guys in here know of anyone with a parts yard in FL? Still looking for a passenger door and mirror for my S5 with no luck. |

Hey guys.
im in the Miami area and im looking for a shop where I can take my rx8 13brew for new fuel cell installation, gauge re-wiring, tuning and some others. fd 20BTT for electrical issues(my fan relay keeps burning),a/c re-installation(full system) and tuning. fd 99RHD for a new clutch. Please a shop where I can take them and pick them up with no damages on the body, no smell or fingerprints with grease or others.I'm not looking for the cheapest or fastest but the best were I can do all this under one roof. Thank you all. |
I'm aware this is an old thread but what about machining? Any local shops that do machining?
|
there is also Rotary Evolution now in the Lake Wales area.
we can deliver an engine up to 500 miles for free, so anywhere in the state. |

just moved to boca raton area and working up in lake worth. i'm looking for a shop that does good preventative maintenance work and a place to tow my 94 r2 when it breaks down. was going to rotary power in glendale, ca which is a great one man shop. searching through this thread i came across these places. any recommendations? i used to take my 88 gtu to jeff at maztech in tampa (another great one man shop) when i lived out there. he was a wealth of knowledge and always did great honest work. he fixed my actuators and my ac after several mechanics were stumped. too far to drive there from here though.
