Hey, its possible I was at the wrong park. I went to the one at the intersection of girvin and ashley mellisse by the old dump. is this the right one?

 

Thats the right park, next to the old dump. Jax historically had its meets there.

So are we set on this as the location and if so, what time? 1 pm?

 

1pm Girvin Location. If it turns out that they removed the grilles, we can all just pitch in for publix party subs/platters, or BBQ from Bono's. They did have grilles there back in the day...

 

Or another option. I made a few calls today and I would recommend that we do this at the St. Augustine Lighthouse. There is a park right across from it that has benches and grills and plenty of shade under trees. It's a beautiful spot. Can't reserve tables I don't think but I will call tomorrow to check as the city is closed for the holiday.

We Jax guys could meet up somewhere around Butler and A1A and we could caravan on down A1A. It would be a great trip as I love that stretch of the road. The Gainesville guys could come straight over and then go back from there.

well whatever you guys want.. just take a vote, and make sure people are aware of the new location...

 

If we want to keep the Girvin Park location, I have a little smoker I can bring to cook up some pulled pork. Others can then bring some buns, plates, chips or other sides. Let me know if you guys want to do this so I can pick up the meat.

 

I like the St. Augustine idea BUT

vote for Girvin since its been the plan to be in Jax all along. I say the next meet should be in St. Augustine or Gainesville.

 

Okay, I say let's keep with the Girven location and have westjaxvert bring his smoker with him. Pulled pork - FTW!

Maybe we can do a caravan along A1A or along Hecksher after the meet?
