I'm only able to go Saturday now, because I won't have enough money this weekend to stay the whole thing. Who else from the Raleigh area is just going for the day? We're meeting up at 7AM here in Raleigh, and I guess we'll leave sometime Saturday evening/night.

What I think would be cool is if everyone meets in a similar area in the parkinglot, I'll call the speedway this week and let y'all know which entrance they will be letting people in, so we know which lot to meet up at.

Here's a map of the speedway... so I dunno if they're gonna make us park in the Red lot or the Green lot. http://www.rockinghamdragway.com/track_map/

If someone can bring a grill, that would be great. It might be easier if someone can each bring an edible dish... IE, one person brings sandwiches, one person brings potato salad, one person brings brownies, etc... I know that rarely works, cuz someone always forgets to bring their item, or forgets to show up. This just seems easier than going to a restaurant, since they are all too far away.

If someone has a better suggestion, I'm all for it.

Oh... and yeah... all OTHER cars are welcome, just as long as you're AT LEAST a rotorhead at heart. Hehe.

....Bump. Cuz I said so.

...oh... what time does everyone want to meet that day? Are we doing our own thing then meeting for lunch, or do we all want to show up at the same time so we can park near each other? (I think showing up at a similar time would be best.)

well all the other times we went there we parked INSIDE... in the "sportsman pits" with the restroom in it. its kinda up on a hill. they usually let us park in there somewhere... so i guess who ever gets up there first try to get a good spot up front and we will look for you.

Lock down a area if you can... maybe make a crappy flyer that says RX7CLUB.COM? im willing to get there as the gates open and lock down the area.

Yeah... that's a good idea... you and I can exchange cell #'s so we can keep in touch. I'll be bringing a couple of Raleigh guys in behind me. Do you have to let the security guys know we're all together, or what? how does that work? I've never been.

all the times i have been there we pay at the gate and drive in... park where you want and do what you want. if you want to race you go to the tech area and get a number.. but after that is more of a do want ever you want type thing.

we like to park right there by the restrooms.. one because is by the restrooms and two because its up on a hill. from that spot we can see what kind of cars are runing and the time boards. the return road goes right by it so after someone we know runs they can just stop right there and let the car cool/ talk about the run.

my cell is 704-651-8792

i live in charlotte nc. lets get the word out!

I'm in for Saturday. The Rock is down US1 so actually Cary Crossroads will be the easiest to get to, and on the way. We could use the Best Buy parking lot, plenty of space, especially that time of the morning.

A couple of pages back Christina said 7am. I think she is overestimating the time it is gonna to take to get to Rockingham. If we leave from Best Buy (and I am assuming that is ok with everyone) at 7am, we will be at the Rock right before 9. The only advantage there is that we will have space to park all our cars side by side, but nothing will be going on yet.

However, she is the organizer of the caravan, so I will be there when she says so (you can't argue with a woman, anyways ).

aint that the truth, are we going to bring walkie-talkies? i got a pair if we wanna use those and i dont see a problem with being at the Bestbuy parking lot a little before 7 to get a good start.

OH and for SURE is it the best buy parking lot by crossroads 20 theatre?

so 1 94 cadillac eldorado will be attending

Hey... yeah... too bad I have NO idea where the best buy in cary is! Someone give me directions. LOL I don't know where anything in Cary is, but the Wake Med.

Anyway, 7AM at Best Buy in Cary on Saturday. What foods are people bringing? Should I just assign people on the list to bring something?

ummm you know when you are coming down 440 towards wake med. well instead of that exit take the one before it for walnut street. as it merges off to walnut street there is a left lane that merges and crosses over a bridge, which puts you right in the crossroads shopping center. dont worry if you miss that first turn off, you can always turn left on walnut street, then left into the shopping center.

well a buddy had my grill, used it once and left it out in the rain.. now its crap. well it was a $14 one so it was crap to begin with. so does anyone have a grill?

I can go ahead and claim drinks.. ill bring a big cooler with drinks and beer.

I wonder if they will let me rope of a section for us to claim as the rx7club meet.

Maybe someone should call them tomarrow and ask?

i plan to get there as the gats open so i can set up the spot. I might run my car that day so ill need backup asap to hold it down.

Us Raleigh ppl will be getting there around 9-ish, so that should be ok.

Hmmm...

I could bring the George Foreman and we can hook it up to someone's converter in their cig lighter? (no joke, it's actually a good idea!)

I can claim hot dogs.

Someone needs to bring:

--Buns
--Condiments
--Chips
--Cookies
--Brownies (yes, lots of sweets, cuz they're GREAT on a hot day... especially later on in the afternoon after we've already eaten lunch)
--Plates
--Napkins or paper towels
--Cups

I think this list is somewhat evenly spaced for prices. I know packs of plates aren't cheap... and cost about as much as buns. (Hint: WAL-MART!!)

We all need to be at Nopi by 10:30 or 11, so if someone doesn't show up, we still have time to run out and buy the items if someone is a no-show.

Guys that KNOW they are coming (without a doubt) should probably get the items that are really necessary... like plates, buns, etc...

Like I said, I have a grill... the George Foreman. hehe

Does anyone have a power converter that they can plug in their cig lighter? I think the one I have is shorted out.

Chips... doritos, ripple potato chips, etc. nothing special.

Whats left:
--Buns
--Cookies
--Brownies (yes, lots of sweets, cuz they're GREAT on a hot day... especially later on in the afternoon after we've already eaten lunch)
--Napkins or paper towels
--Cups

Jared, if you would, please specify one or two things on the list that you definitely can get, so we won't have to worry that we might not have the items. Anything extra ya wanna bring is great!

Ok... the George Foreman is gonna be too much like work, cuz we could run down our batteries.

I'm gonna bring our coleman stove, and we'll cook the hot dogs, etc. with that. (My family has lots of camping gear.)

I'm also bringing a card table so we have something to set up on.......... so nobody gets mustard stains on their 7's. LOL

Yes, I'm still only bringing my FC. Remember, the hatch gives LOTS of space compared to you FD guys.
