david and jeremy did. . . too bad they didnt get tuned though. . . whatta bummer. . . though, i heard a certain supra was killing all the competition out there!!!!
how much did he end up making???

That was his last pull. He is happy with the power he made at 21psi (680) it took him 28psi last time to make that. So between the bigger pistons, cams and tuning it worked out for him but he really was wanting to see 800. Everytime they would turn up the boost it would not change power? He had 2 other supra friends that had the same problem at Walker Dyno. SO I duno.... I am pretty bumbed needless to say. I only made some where around 333 at 13.5psi area. ( I have to go back and look at my 46 f*&$ing pulls) About the same as what I made on my stockers. But I know I just need a ported motor and higher boost for this turbo. Long night, no one saw what they wanted and I still smell like a damn exhaust !!!!
yeah, that place is bad about that!!! my wife was gonna rip my face off when she had to endure my eleventy million pulls last time!!! hahahaha, not a very good location if you ask me. nobody likes that smell. . . and having to pull the door down just makes it worse!
i may be making the trip down there this weekend to get davids car done while steve's in town. . . just depends on when he leaves.

I sure hated that David came all the way down for nothing But we had to let the Supra go next it was only fair as he was one of the first to arrive... Does anyone know if Dave (w/ to4r) got back on in the morning?
How did it do?
I still wish we would have made a few more pulls on mine and went to 15 and 16 psi. My last pull seemed to hold pretty straight on 13 to 14 psi. I really wanted to see closer to 400 before I left but I left that all up to Steve and I guess he did not want to up the boost on my high milege stock motor..

Got the profecc B working now.... Feels much better at 1.17bar (17.2psi)...... I wonder how much more power I am getting with 4 psi more? Guess its back to the dyno.. But I am starting to feel better about this turbo kit...
woah, Mike, don't boost it up like that without adding fuel! You'll pop your motor pretty quick without a 3 bar map and race fuel.....and the tuning for it. You can go 16psi safe on pump 93 but you still need to tune up your fuel mapping for that. Just leave it where Steve tuned you to. If you really wanna drive with it up at that boost level, call Steve and see if he can at least street tune you or something for it.
Sorry, I didn't post earlier guys, but I drove back and made it to Burns in about 3 hours or maybe a little less Friday morning. Needless to say, I almost didn't make it when the sun came up on me and got me falling asleep driving every 5 minutes.
The big reason on the slow progress with the Supra tuning was that the wideband sensor's accuracy was questionable. David's Supra was equipped with an FJO unit that was reading a full lambda point richer than the dyno's sniffer. I am not surprised there was a problem with it after 46 pulls on Mike's car, the first half of which were on a slashed coupling and the stoich was very nasty without the air in the mixture.
I never got back on the dyno after Dave pulled out. I went out to my car and went to sleep for a little while. Steve came out and knocked on my window with his eyeballs bleeding and lungs singed and asked what I wanted to do. I said, "Steve,.....what CAN you do?" He said I could crash with them and come back around noon, but he was burnt...literally. I had promised to spend the weekend with my dad and I wasn't about to miss out on another day that we lost with that tuning session going so late, so I put the relay box back together, bolted my intercooler back on, tied down some piping, and collected all my tools, and drove back to Burns at 4:20am. I haven't talked to Steve yet, but I'm really not up for making that drive again. One of the other FD guys I'm friends with up in Delaware is on his 2nd Steve Kan motor and we buy plenty of goodies from Gotham Racing, so I think we're going to try and meet with him on his next trip towards that region. Rich is also moving back to New Jersey, so maybe we can get Steve to come visit.
Enough said, let me load some of my digital shops on my image station account and I'll post away. Don't worry, I have some of the Supra.

Mike, by the way, I thought I'd rub in my intake temps on the way home.
I warmed up and they went to 18 degrees, then dropped to 17 and 16 all the way up through Nashville. They finally went back up to 17 when I got into rush hour traffic and the sun was up. Water temps stayed at 82 degrees the whole way. There weren't many cars on the drive back until the very end of 65, so between Birmingham and there, I kept it between 85 and 110- mostly around 85-90 though. It was fun going through the Birmingham interchanges that quick. Good thing it was 4 in the morning. I really didn't wanna waste that much fuel, but I knew I had to get home as soon as I could because I'd fall asleep when the sun came up.

Yeah, I know... I just can not help from keeping my foot out of it now that I can control boost. I think I might just run 100 octane when running higher boost until I get it re tuned. It feels sooooo much better.. Iwould have to say I have made 15 pulls at 1.15bars. Only problem now is keeping the piping from blowing off.
Man, your temps are great! I was getting like high 20's on the way home but it was pretty chilly out. I am getting around 42 on a day like today.. I might put it on the local dyno just to see what it is doing..

Just make sure you hook up the wideband and make sure you're not leaning it out. An extra few pounds of boost makes a difference.
I have to get a new fuel pump relay before I can start turning boost up. Right now, as long as that pressure holds, I can safely run about a quarter boost, but I still don't even think that's very much. Three hundred some horsepower is about all it has there. I'll take it back to get tuned when my intercooler piping gets done and the fuel system is ok.

I heard that. Every time I've been around when people are meeting up with Steve, he's running behind or finishing up late. One of the cars from Delaware was getting tuned by him and he was last in line at Rotary Revolution. We were sitting in the McDonald's by the hotels until about 10:30 that night waiting for them to get finished before we started back to Delaware. Needless to say, we were forced to pull over because people were nodding off in the 90mph convoy. It was a real bad idea- you just can't perform that late into the night whether you're driving or tuning. I think I'm gonna get Dimitrius or Steve to finish up my car on a street tune so I'm not burning dyno time. There's some dyno events coming up around Delaware and Maryland that are pretty cheap for pulls, so I will probably get my numbers at them. Tuners can work a lot faster when they're in the passenger seat focused on the laptop anyway.
I agree and thats what Steve recommended also but I know David (supra) and myself wanted to see some numbers.. Although I wish I did not now...
Hey, were is the best place to get a vented hood? My liner is falling apart fast with the new temps and location of radiator..... So I am thinking a vented hood would be a great idea....
