New chucktown thread (August)

Well there hasnt been a new thread in a while. I thought that i might just start one up. Well for all of you that dont know, my FD did catch on fire. It was a gas leak, still havent found out where from though. I pulled the UIM and saw an *** load of burnt wires, so needless to say i will be needing a new wiring harness. So anyone that needs a Apexi PFC let me know (for a FD REW) I will be selling mine and upgrading to a haltech, since that will come with a new wiring harness anyways. My pfc doesnt even have 300 miles on it so if you are interested shoot me a pm. One weekend i will be having a engine pulling party at my house so i will let you know and you are all invited. OK guys well hopefully we can get some posts on this thread so we can all keep in contact

Hey, I thought Id finally post. Im "gxl90rx7"s brother. I allready told u this but, I got a red '89 GTU for $300 2 months ago. It has 145K mi. on it. So the motor has past away and Im currently rebuilding it. It's in pieces and Im in the process of cleaning the parts. The front, intermediate, and rear housings, have a scratch or something on the sides were the apex seals ride along, there about an inch long and u can feel them with your finger nail. Is that a bad thing? Anyway. Landon, that suks that your FD caught fire.
Later.
Toby.

It almost seems like everyone with a 2nd gen is rebuilding. I know that nieto has sent his off to rebuild. Well i guess it isnt just a 2nd gen thing, more like an rx7 thing. I was warned about what i was getting my self into when i bought an rx7 but i still wouldnt change if for the world. Even if i only get to drive if for 3 months out of the year.
As for the scratches i would assume that they are a bad thing, i havent cracked open a rotary engine yet, so all i really know is about the turbos and the exterior parts. WEll good luck with the rebuild

ANYWAY..back to the topic, Landon, if you end up rebuilding yours, i'll bring mine by and swap the motor, we can have a date...i'll bring the wine

Hi Charleston!! Some of you guys don't know me, I used to be part of the Charleston crew awhile back. I met Landon right before I left. Sorry to hear about your car. If you were here, I would definitely hook you up with this guy that's awesome at rebuilds (not to mention he has great prices). What's going on, I heard Derek's 10th AE caught on fire too. You guys be careful out there!! Sorry to jack you thread!

Well the thing is, the engine should be fine, I am just going to need a new wiring harness. I need to get with reese and find out the right one to go along with the haltech. I cant afford the haltech yet, until i sell my power fc then i can get it.
Well it looks like i wont be in town for a couple of weeks, this weekend i am going to cola to help my girl friend move, next week we are going something in spartanburg, and the next weekend i will be in ohio, well you guys get the pic, so it is looking like it wont be anytime soon. But i could always start it one evening, since i have nights off, so if that works with anyone let me know.

Hey guys change of plans, if you guys can make it i will be pulling the engine this weekend. So this can be the chucktown meet. And we can either start it or end it with the drive over the new bridge. So let me know who all is going to make it.

We can start around 2 or so. We can meet at K-mart make the run over the new bridge and eat at Wild Wings. After that we would come back to my house and pull the engine. If anyone knows where i can rent or borrow an engine lift i would appreciate it.
