GA Need some help please with a 79.

Alright,

So, I've found a killer deal on an auto 1st gen (79). Want to get it for my girlfriend so she can join in on the addiction (she's been looking to get in with us).

The guy I'd get it off of said that it needs a carb rebuild and has a hard time starting. Once it starts it runs well. I'm looking for what are the possible explanations for the hard start and how much parts/time would be involved in getting it to daily driver status.

Would love the help of the OGTA guys! After all, your my surrogate family. Input (positive) from everyone is always appreciated.

I know autos suck, but bear with me. She just needs a car semi-quick and if possible wants a manual, but most manuals out there are out of her immediate price range.

Thanks,

Kev

Not sure if it would help or not but I probably have access to a spare carb that you could possibly have or buy for a very small amount.

I appreciate it guys. We went ahead and decided not to get it due to it being an auto. Plus, she really wants to hold out for a cheap 91 miata. So thanks again.

He wants less than 1k for it. I doubt I'll get it since it's an auto...
