Was it absolutely necessary for you to edit the thread and title. It would be been less work to just move my thread to the correct forum.

This place is becoming more over-moderated than the Lounge.

True, it would have been less work. But, since no one seems to get the picture when I do it that way, I thought I'd try a different approach.

I haven't noticed a lot of people fighting and stuff in here, so I don't really have much to have to moderate. My main problem is the fs/wtb threads. THIS forum is for local events and discussions. The Classifed forums are for selling and buying.

Well, Alex (DirectFreak) had a personal problem with the "Spotted" threads, but instead of just closing them all, he asked for everyone's opinion on how they felt about them and what he should do. Unless I have missed a thread in which everyone collectively denounced for sale threads, it seems you have taken it upon yourself to just put an end to them.

Now I'm not saying everyone wants these threads in here, but I think we should have a choice. I think regional forums should contain whatever the majority of the people in the region want in them, regardless of what the rest of the forum is there for.

As someone who is not even a resident of this region, I think you have slightly overstepped your bounds.

2. Keep in mind that this is not a democracy. We have the right to refuse service to anyone.

Not that I think this matters, but I do own a house in Charleston, SC, and founded the SC RX-7 club, in 2001. Aside from that, I was appointed to my position by Ryan (BOOSTD 7) as the original moderator for the SE region, in like 2003 . The for sale/wanted threads have been an ongoing issue. I haven't always been able to get on the forum due to operational commitments (I'm in the Navy), which is why we have two other moderators (who also cannot be here all the time).

Ya, I would sure like to buy a car from the guy 100 miles away, than a guy 2500 miles away. Shoot, even a S4 black interior. Anyone got one close buy? If I didn't have to have it shipped, it would probably save me $200.

Assuming people follow the rules in the For Sale section, it shouldn't be too difficult to find something close to you.

Yeah. For example. I have these really nice S5 TII seats for sale.

All you have to do is make the thread in the for sale section.

FS: S5 TII seats

Body:

I have some awesome seats in Miami Florida.
Only 100 dollars. Damn thats cheaps!
Seriously cheap and if your in MIAMI I will drop them off.

(Just make sure you put the location (Miami) and price ($100) in the body.

Now seriously. Is that so hard. No

Did I mention they are $100 by the way?

I don't think ridiculing someone is the best way to deliver your message. You put the guy out there and tried to make an *** of him. He created a post in the wrong place.
You could have simply moved the post and sent the guy a Private Message. It would have probably been more effective.

You are a "Moderator" not a "Dictator". This site's here for the RX7 community. I'm sure many would agree that doing things such as removing areas of this site like the for sale/wtb section or controlling the topics in the regional sections are not what The Forum Members want.

--By the way,
You still have those black TT2 seats?
Look at that! Your in Miami.
I'm just a few minutes away from you!
