need help tuning a weber 48 IDF

i will be installing a weber i got off of a 12a on a 70's 13b. its a 48 IDF. in about two months this engine will be replaced for a 13b with 90 n/a rotors, street ported and exhaust ported. i know the way the carb is now it wont be suitable for either 13b. would i be able to have it suitable for the stock 70's 13b and the beefier engine or would that require changing a lot? id like to have it on both so i could drive the car until i get the second engine, but if i have to wait thats not abig deal. any idea of shops or anyone who could help me out? i got the haynes weber manual and its just seems pointless to me. its like a whole different language. any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks.

My engine builder is an old school rotary guy and expert on carbs.

If you are willing to drive to AL, I might be able to get him to tune for you. You might have to give him some money for his time though.. if he is willing to do it.

PM and let me know if you are interested.

Why wouldn't it be okay for a 13B? I had a 40 IDF on a Cartech turbo kit on a 13B blowthrough setup, it should be more than fine on a naturally aspirated motor.

Bung weld an O2 sensor and get an A/F gauge, that's how I tuned my old motor. It beats guessing what the motor is doing and is much safer.

thanks for your help guys.

pillage6- i thought about doing the o2 sensor put i wasnt sure what all was involved. seems like itd just be getting the bung on there, run the O2, get power to the o2 and hook up the gauge. i will more than likely do this. thanks for the help so far, keep it coming.

It's really simple, it's like maybe $30 to get the bung and weld it in, then $60 for a universal O2 or $300 if you want a wideband. If you are N/A I think a normal O2 is good enough, another $130 for the gauge and voila!! Don't ask me how to wire it, anything with electricity scares me since I have NO clue what I am doing and value my life.
