Anyways.... mid 60s and clear I think, then again that's a Raleigh forcast. I would come prepared and/or bring some warm clothes since we're eating around 6pm and staying until........
Tell Doug that was musician standard time! Nah, I'll be there at 8:30, maybe 8:36 EST.

OK, I checked the weather for the area.. high of 59 is expected, with lots of sun. Which means I need to dress like and eskimo. I get so cold! But I am excited. I guess I will just have to eat like a pig all day to keep my internal temps up!
See you in the morning!

I'd love to go to this but I just found out about it, so it's probably too late for registration. And money is kinda tight, and the tranny is leaking, and I'm trying to replace it tomorrow anyway, haha. *Sigh* FDs...gotta love 'em, haha.

Ok... so that was AWESOME.
Thank you for inviting us and allowing us that opportunity! I'm really interested in learning more about that kind of racing. Definitely something I can see myself doing eventually.

Brits & Battleship Car Show in Wilmington
Since last weekend went so good, anyone from MSCCofNC interested in the Brits & Battleship Car Show in Wilmington?
Just heard from Dave Sorensen of the British Motor Car Club of the Cape Fear on the Car Show in Wilmington, he welcomes us down for the show. He has invited any that want to enter the show to let them know and if they get enough rotary entries might get a special classification for our cars. Their website is http://www.bmccf.org/ with links for the car show info and other interesting info about their club.
The guy sounded really glad to have another sports car enthusiasts' group to join the fun. It will be at the USS North Carolina Memorial parking lot and he said they have muscle cars, other sports cars in the show as well as British cars. Sounds like a great time and some interesting cars to look at.
We can do this as the November weekend drive, we'll drive back that evening or anyone that wants to stay overnight can do that in Wilmington or go on out to Morehead City and stay on the beach.
POST HERE IF YOU INTEND TO BE THERE AND WHERE YOU'LL MEET US. ALSO IF ANYONE WANTS TO ENTER THEIR CAR IN THE SHOW TO FILL OUT A FORM FROM THEIR WEBSITE. THE WHOLE THING KICKS OFF AT 10:00 AM.
All downeast guys, you're invited to meet us in Wilmington or somewhere between Raleigh and Wilmington along I-40 to join the rotary caravan.

If you'd like to see some more interesting racing, come out to VIR this coming weekend. There is a 13-hour endurance race being run by the North Carolina Region of the Sports Car Club of America on Saturday. The race starts at 9:00am and runs until 10:00pm. And yes the cars have lights. No, there is no additional lighting around the track. Yes, we are running the VIR Full course (like the past weekend).
Also, I can usually accomodate extra people as my "crew," so if you'd like to come out to a race let me know and I'll see if I have spaces available on my crew list. Join the MSCCNC forum and check the event area. I try to post what races I'll be going to and if I have space on the crew list. I typically race at VIR and Summit Point West Virginia (~5 hours north of RTP).

Man, those spec Miata drivers are aggressive! They will do anything to ensure their position, saw a lot of bumping and rubbing out there.
It was nice meet up with some RRDI members there. I am planning to attend a meet one of these day again.

Ouch, that stung!
Ashraf has put up some pix of the event:

And here is one of the damaged car...

Believe it or not all I had to replace to get the car going again was:
o Lower control arm w/ ball joint
o Inner ball joint
o Tie rod and adjusting nuts
