Moving to West Palm Beach
I have been in CA my whole life, but just got a good job in FL so I am moving out in a few weeks. I know quite a bit about the rotary and now LSX swaps. I am hoping to meet some fellow car guys that can fill me in on the FL scene and and am looking forward to being able to harrass Pettit Racing now that they will be close by. So, I guess this is an informal introduction, I just wanted to say hey and I am excited about no more CARB (California Air Resource Board)!!!

Hey Im in West Palm Beach.. Good to have another Rotary join the city... Japtrix & Pettit Racing are the only Shops I know really but theres another shop on Southern and Pike Road which is right off of Southern by the Turnpike... RX7s are rare here in Palm Beach so you'll be one of few... Welcome!

Welcome to South Florida. I've only been in South Florida for close to a year and a half and don't have a lot to offer when it comes to the "scene" down here, but it would be good to meet more fellow FD owners. As one of the other posters said, FD's are very rare down here (I've only seen one or two and someone at my work has a CYM FD, but did not respond to a note I left on their car). Anyway, when are you moving? I live in Coral Springs about 20 min south of Palm Beach.

I just got in to FL on Saturday and thankfully all of my cars that were shipped made it out here okay. Thanks for the responses guys, I didn't see much action on this thread when I first posted so I wasn't too sure I was going to hear much back.
As for the car it is a '93 R1, but not originally CYM it was a VR. The paint job was done before I got the car and definitely needs a respray, especially since it now has a feed hood and '99 spec plateless bumper that needs to be painted as well. I have been playing with the car for around 9-10 years now and recently, love it or hate it, I went to the darkside and installed an LS1. I hope I don't get shunned down here for that, but I did all the work myself and had done so much with the Rotary that I wanted to try something new and I just looked at it as a new mod. I need some new suspension and may be checking out Pettit's new coilover setup. Has anyone run this or know someone who has? The prices seem good and it is from someone that has been in the FD game for awhile now. I am thinking of dropping by this week, do they do drop ins?
Thanks for teh replys guys keep em coming.

Yeah, I know Mike and Gene they are good guys. I used to go to a lot of local weekend get togethers, but that kind of stopped once I got a girl and the car went under construction. Just didn't have the time to hang much after that unfortunately.
