Moving to South Carolina Soon (Emissions?)
My wife and I are going to be moving to Columbia or the surrounding region in South Carolina sometime in June. What kind of emission testing and/or inspections will we have to go through with an RX-7?
LMAO. I almost choked on my soda... Nope none of them pesky E-mishuns 'round here!
Good thing, considering some of the 7s we have running around here (Columbia). Let's see... 380+ WHP 10AE, 1/2 BP 13B-RE FC, 20B 10AE... Heh.
Definitely look me up when you get to town! It's always good to meet yet another rotorhead.

I tried for a while last night looking on South Carolina's laws and Department of Motor Vehicles web site looking for something. All I found was some basic requirements such as: Steering mechanism, WHEELS , and muffler. Damn, I was hoping I could get away driving my car around on the rims whichever way it wanted to go.
At any rate, there are no inspections or emissions where I live in southern Illinois either. I am glad to see I will not have to spend extra money on top of moving expenses to put crap on our cars.

It's not like I chose to move here John!! But it's not all that bad. I get pulled over about 3 times a month, but they can't ticket me since I still have my NC plates and registration.

Okay, here is another question...
Where is a good place to live for a bit while we get established? I would rather rent than just jump into buying a house. My wife will be going to USC in the Fall with their pharmacy program so money will be tight I am sure.
