Yea so sometime this summer I might be moving down to Jacksonville, FL... I'll be bringing 3 or 4 sevens with me... So what is there to do around there? I know it's got a beach (I won't move anywhere without a beach), and the music scene is good... What's the rotary scene like? I buy alot of sevens so I wanna make sure there's plenty for the raping...

I think the Jax scene is a little slow right. Brian (rxse7en) is usually the driving force behind our get togethers and he is MIA right now. I'm not sure what is going on with him...I haven't been able to get in touch with him.

We have quite a few Jax rotaries and our meets usually include Gainesville and Daytona Beach people. I think there is usually 3-4 meets a year with Tom Bush Mazda providing money for them. I haven't kept up much since my car has been down for almost 2 years now.

As for what there is to do...

1/8th mile track in town
1/4th mile track in Gainesville
beaches
golf
clubs/bars
restaurants/dinner theatres
pro football
minor league baseball
minor league hockey

Maybe others can add to the list. So, what might be bringing you to Jax?

FYI, the 1/8 mile drag strip (JAX Raceways @ Pecan Park Rd.) is now gone and torn-up for development.

Well basically I'm coming there for a few reasons...

1. Anywhere is better than North Crackolina.

2. The warmer the better.

3. Won't go anywhere that doesn't have a beach.

4. Trying to find competent, dedicated musicians and it won't happen here.

5. The hunt for sevens must continue.

6. Trying to dodge emissions!

Do they test there?

 

whats up Alex! this is Blake down in tallahassee. We talked the other day. ME personally i would not move to JAcksonville for musical reasons. The music scene there is horrible and only benifecial if your into the whole southern rock thing.

Oh yeah, I meant to tell you that I may have found a seweet trade on a 91 coupe for my vert. As much as i wanted to trade wiyh you on the fb, I just am not into ''restoring'' as i used to be simply because i do not have the time anyymore.

But antyways if you do come to JAcksonville, i do know of several peeps there who are 7 heads and all along the panhandle for that matter. Gimme a shout sometime.

Work, college, daughter, other side projects, motivation...you name it and it's been an obstacle at one point or another. I think all that is really left at this point is the Wolf and some changes that need to be made to the homemade camber plates. How's your FD...are you wearing it out?

As for Brian, I know he has had some health issues in the past so I hope it's nothing too serious.

Music scene is not bad, as long as you know where to go.. if you're into the "hip-hop" scene, Jax is a good spot for it..

I'm not sure where the "country ya'll folks" hang out.. maybe in the mudpits of the damp areas of Jax?? We have alot of that here too.. j/k.. I love country folks!

Jax is really diverse with musical heads.. just got to have a diverse set of friends to know the scene.. WELCOME TO JACKSONVILLE! (If you plan on coming..)

 

My son works sound around town & is pretty well networked.
He has done some mods on his landlord's (who has some local clubs) FD.

 

I like hip hop (good hip hop that has meaning to it), but it's really not my thing... I HATE country music... Mostly progressive rock/metal whatever you wanna call it... Tool, Mudvayne, that sort of thing...

 

Are you going to need help driving down all those 7's?

I believe you will be pleased with the music scene down here.. we always have alot of concerts around here for all types of music.. I'm sure whatever you listen to, you'll find a spot here..!
