Mid Tenn Mazda Rotary Club...... Git er done!

Sorry for the lame redneck stuff but!!!!

Guys there are a lot of you out there posting on the forum, showing up at the meets, and comunicating in general with eachother which is GREAT!!! This is exactly what we wanted in the first place (chad, myself and a few others). But Chad put out quite a bit of his own money to get this thing started, he commisioned T-shirts, and stickers, in a round about way to generate some cash flow for the upkeep of the club website and other club related needs.

Chad has always been there for me whenever I needed his help and I know he has helped several others in the club.. Be it a tow by trailer, a free or inexpensive part, or a phone call to see how your car is running.... Lets not leave him out to dry..

ASa reference there are 36 registered Members.. Only 7 members bought shirts... The shirts cost money and were printed to show pride in your car and in the club....

Shirts are still ONLY $15 which goes to the club website (websites aren't free BTW)
Stickers are $5 a pair I believe..... I may be wrong..

Lets all support the club, without you there is no club....

Trevor.

Are the stickers just like the shirts?

I have a shirt for now. Maybe I'll get a sticker too, but I'm going to wait for now. I'll think about it. I have NO problem helping out with anything. The only thing is with me living in Clarksville it might be harder to help (other than money wise). Let me know if there is something I may be able to help with.

Twenty three views and one reply..... Exactly my point...

At least post on here: "look Trevor I don't have $5, so get off my back or something....."

This is the reason the club will fail eventually.

You will find out eventually. RX-7 people, 1 and 2gen owners especially, LOVE to talk about doing things, but when it actually comes down to getting money out of their hands it gets really quiet really fast. And if you have 20 "commitments" for any given gathering, count on about 8 actually showing up.

It's just the way it is.

this is exactly right. . . i have tried all of this in the past. it just doesnt happen. tennessee is VERY unmotivatable (sp?) when it comes to rotary gatherings. i applaud you for your efforts and progress even, but its still going to be hard to make it successful.

a lot of people (remember, this IS the south) in tennessee are stuck in their ways and just dont CARE to involve their busy lives with yet ANOTHER task. . . like paying dues or making meets or buying shirts. some people would rather take it easy and hang out with their friends rather than "clubmates/business partners". its makes it easier that way. . . no ties. . . no club talk. . . just hangin and having fun. . . thats the way people around here like it. the fun in hanging out goes away when money is involved, especially when things are said about nobody doing their part in the club by paying up and buying shirts and such. this is pretty much the reason i never joined a fraternity. . . i just dont see the reason for PAYING to have friends.

i personally have no desire to be in a club. . . i dont care for shirts, stickers, and i surely dont care to be paying for friends. . . yes, i did look at this thread and skip it. . . cause im not in the club, so there was no reason for me to post. since you brought up the fact that people were looking and not posting. . . i figured i would. just to make you happy.

im tellin ya man. . . dont stress over the club thing. . . let it happen. itll happen one day and youll have a decent club, but if you stress about how you guys are putting in all these man-hours w/o any appreciation from the members. . . then i doubt youll gather a whole lot more.

if you want the club to be a success. . . act like it IS a success. i seriously thought you guys were doing okay until this thread. the more you act as though everything is going fine and things are on the up and up. . . the better itll be and more people will join. . . cause theyll want to join a successful club that doesnt require all of THEIR time. but if you continue to tell the members to anny up and start pitching in and all that sort of thing. . . people will start to flutter away.

paul

oh, and about the 18 people worth of beer. . . ask david garfinkle how his wallet felt after the GAR-B-Q. . .

yeah my thoughts exactly ...

i was hanging out with my "rx-7 fellows" before this group was even thought up ...
kinda sucks that you put it in a way that sounds like since we havent given money we dont deserve to hang out ..

and yeah ... i didnt hear david complain at all about his BBQ ... and he footed the bill straight up ... also allowed his house to be over run with smelly rx-7 guys ...

thats what its all about .. hanging out and talking cars

more power to you guys, but i would honestly rather put my money towards my car, or food .. or beer ...
im not saying i'll never pay, but it most likely wont be anytime soon ... as i never promised to pay anything in the first place

You guys are retards.. I never said anything about "since we havent given money we dont deserve to hang out .." WTF? What Chad is doing is great... But it isn't FREE. That was my point. No-one is asking you to buy friends, that is rediculous... Do what you want, I am not trying to bully anyone, that isn't my style. But I was just reminding people that we are doing this for a reason, to strengthen the rotary community in MidTN..

i never once doubted your ability to do the club. . . i said good luck and good job. i stated how i felt about clubs in general because you said to post whatever. . . so i did. im a retard? i dont think my post was very retarded. . . just opinionated. . . much like you.

whatever it is that chad is doing. . . great. . . thats fine. why would it be anybody elses job to pay for something that YOU GUYS started. i remember these discussions about a club. we all said, "just get together. . . and LET a club come around." nope, thats not the way it happened. . . SOMEBODY had to belong.

Holy God, I'll be PC from now on... I was just poking fun. You know like the "clueless" style "that is retarded." or "stop being a retard" not correct but eh..

I wasn't attacking anyone personally and I wasn't trying to money grub, especially as I don't even touch the money or have any invested in the club, other then the shirts I bought I haven't invested any, but I jumped on the oppertunity to help out those that have.

As with the calendar- this is my gamble, I am going to pay for it to help the club..

I was only trying to understand why supporting the club is like chicken pox to some people. Sorry I offended some of you that was not my intent. Forgive me? I hope so.

I remember that!!! It was at my place and one of the dogs keep resting his nuts on Trevor's head! (In his defense, he was crippled and couldn't fight back)
