lkhadvl;khasdfhahadsflkhsfahk best line yet regarding best in show from a random friend

me: so who do you think won best in show?
him(mr2-turbo owner): o probably one of the fine rx7s...
me: hmmm how about this :shows him mazda 3:
him: who the **** did he blow? if you lined them all up for me, that would have been my very last guess.
**long pause**well maybe the things that weren't mazdas would have come after.

;lkhsadfl;khhadsf;hklads

i got a good kick outta that. seems like the consensus from even non-car knowing individuals...a good "wtf, how" seems to be the general question.

This said, i would gladly pay 10 or 20 dollars for an event that had some food or at least some refreshments. Many of us rx-7 peeps were hungry and thirsty and dident want to pay 20 bucks for 1 hotdog and 1 soda. Maybe also we need some entertainment like some bigass speakers blasting music or something like that.
Well, that's how previous meets were. At 3 previous meets, I just went and bought at least $100 worth of food and told people if anyone wanted to contribute, they were welcome to, but not obliged. Then I sold my Mazda and decided to take a more backseat role, thus setting up the caravan to make sure people just get there safely.

Being as I didn't actually have a hand in the logistics of the event, I can't say for sure, but I'm fairly certain that one stipulation that the park officials had was that we do not outright sell any products or do food that would interfere with local vendors. Like I said, I'm not 100% on that, it's just my understanding of the situation.

With all that nonsense out of the way, I don't know what all the arguing is about anymore. The show is over and done with. I stand by the choices I made of the cars that i was told to judge (Protege 5's and RX-8's mostly), and if those people are upset with my decisions. I remind them that entrance was FREE and the car show was FREE. If a trophy is really that important, they are like $10 at any trophy shop.

I have no problem in being completely honest in saying that these events started as Protege events. When we first organized them a few years back, the Miata and rotary guys wanted nothing to do with us. Gradually, we've started to turn things around, and I feel the Melbourne meet was sort of a turning point. And I think that if this wants to continue in a positive fashion, it needs to be well-established ahead of time that the show aspect is just for fun, and is only one small part of the entire meet.

I've worked on RX-7's before, but never owned one. But nevertheless, I had a good time chatting it up with Rob and some of the other RX-7 and RX-8 owners during our stops at the caravan and at the meet. I may not be a Mazda guy anymore, but I'm defenitely still a car guy. And to me it matters more about having good turnouts at meets and good conversations with the other enthusiasts than what kind of badge is on the back of the car or who wins what trophy.

Sorry for rambling, I'm just trying to clear the air as best as I can.

racial slur, I AM WHITE ie CAUCASIAN, white referred to her skin tone. HER MOUTH OPENED FIRST TOWARDS ME is why she caught a remark. junior, thank you for being the chill police and interpreting all the bs.
She is one of our members, as well and Felix, and several others that you insulted in your fit. The flrx8club has no interest in fighting, nor do we sit and listen to some cranky guy insult our members. Who has time for that.....

Rob, you saying anything like this to anyone is just inconsiderate and shows a lack of control with you temper. Good leadership characteristics. You were just mad, no one had said anything to set you off. You instigated the whole drama at the end of the meet which no one enjoyed.

Taking your shirt off to fight? WTF, just silly man. No one wanted to fight you, no one cared about what you were saying. You just were mad and lost your cool.

The fact is that there was only one class for the RX7s, and there were a lot of rx7s there. That isn't a surprise.

This was hosted by the protoge club and we are thankful that they invited us. These people that are at the meet are more piston than rotary minded predominantly. That doesnt mean you can't go and have a good time, meet other enthusiasts.

As a rotary owner, you are unique. Not a lot of people get it. This event would have been a great opportunity to talk to a lot of you people who love Mazdas and no doubt drool over 7s.....

Did anyone notice that the guys who owned the bad *** 7's did give a 2 ***** *** about the trophy? He was extremely cool about it and I think *most gave them props for his rides. With that said, it was a piston meet (let's not fool ourselves). If you asked many of the folks there what a rotary engine looked like they wouldn't have been able to tell you. The 7's and the 8's just ended up there chillin.

Rob: You and I have been cool (online and offline). To be honest, I don't think you should have said what you said to that lady. I understand you were mad, but c'mon? Really? Calling her a bitch? Nah that wasn't cool. Especially, since this is someone who made various comments about how awesome it is to have a rotary, wished they had one and have showed up to many rotary events (sometimes more than the rotary owners themselves --8's and 7' alike). If the table was turned and someone called your girl (or wife etc) a bitch you would be seriously pissed. Wouldn't you?

Someone further up (I think)made a comment that rotaries should have their own thing. I think that is an awesome idea. IF YOU GET US TO SHOW UP. I worked hard last year to get the troops out to the Race Rock meet (we had over 100 cars there), but as with everything else folks say they'll show and then don't. So you end up with an all Mazda meet and the organizers get demotivated.

M'eh. I had to throw my .02c in. Later, I gotta go check my oil.

Not to mention the mazda 6 was AUTOMATIC!!!

One more thing, that korean kid in the white rx8 was a friggin trash talker. I wished rob woulda beat his *** too. I personally saw the kid getting pissed at the judges because supposly he got a bad score and was yelling at em saying" Look at all my awards".
Get it right, ROB was the trash talker and the kid in the white RX-8 isn't Korean. I guess you must be Mexican then, cuz all Hispanic people are just Mexicans. And believe me, ROB wasn't kicking anyones *** but his own. If he wanted to make a move, all he had to do was walk 20 feet and I would have dropped his *** quick. Don't assume you can tell what a person is capable of by the way they look or the **** that comes out of their mouth. SO next time you want to talk ****, make a move and watch an RX-8 Korean guy set you straight.

And talking **** on the boards won't bother me, talk all you want. But when I see you somewhere at a meet, maybe months or even a year down the road, and this BIG *** KOREAN GUY walks up to you with a look on his face like he's gonna make you his BITCH, you'll remember that **** forever.

You didn't stop ROB from doing ****. And he wasn't busting anyone in the face. I stood next to my bud in the white RX-8 and waited for the 40 year old boy, ROB to make his move. Don't assume ROB can kick anyone's *** on the planet. Even Mike Tyson can get knocked the **** out. So let him loose next time, don't step in front of him and hold him back like he was gonna do some ****. My 6'3" 280lb *** was planted and waiting. Rob wouldn't have made it to my little asian friend. He's just a college kid hanging out with his friends. Me, I'm old enough and don't appreciate old ******* trying to start **** with people half his age. Grow the **** up or start ******* with people that won't just sit and listen to you whine like a ******* baby. "My cars faster, let's run it bitch!" Is that the best you can do Rob, man did I just wake up in a ******* shitty B-Movie remake of the "Fast and the Furiously Imature One Liners." Go cloan yourself and then **** yourself, PEACE BITCHES!!!

You said,"Shut the **** up you white bitch!" That's not a racial slur??? If I said, "Shut the **** up you black bitch!" to a person of color, that wouldn't be a racial slur either??? I confused.

I offer my apology to the woman, if you are at a car show or meet or a working garage, car business, let's be honest here, vulgarity is the norm and not the exception either behind the scenes or blatant. comics use vulgarity to get laughs and get paid well, if it offends you, change the channel. what about the idiot in the blue protege or 3 or whatever that at least 2x, came down our row speeding with kids in the area during the insults? everyone back him up? i dont need 20yr. old nothings telling me how mature they are; bs! I am a rotorhead and have been for 8yrs. Even back, before most of you were born, I was interested in them after seeing what they did at bonneville salt flats ie) land topspeed. Dominating gt class in the 80's etc. Only japanese car to win 24hrs. of Le Mans? RX7[mazda] everyone has pride in their cars if they work on them, if you insult me one way or my friends you can expect it back, that is all. I don't lie or bullshit and am probably the most honest to a fault person you will ever meet. enuff said, i wanted to respond to honey and mantis, they have been very informative and friendly the 2 meets I have been to they were part of. I don't understand what the - is between the 7/8 and one group stands here the other there at same meet? jmo I have been up for like 30 hrs so ...

Rob:

I have no beef with the 7's or anyone for that matter. I've actually learned alot from the few rx7club members I met personally and I'm sure its visa-verse. Even the ones b4 I bought my 8. At the meet I was checking all the cars out and chatted with G for a bit and talked about the mods I did since he saw me bone stock a year ago. It's not that folks didn't mingle but some of the ol' school rotor heads aren't necessarily welcoming to a female in an 8. THIS IS IMO - I'm not speaking for anyone else. There is this air of "I know more than you do and you're below me" and no one learns when that happens. We can try as hard as we want to make people comfortable, but **** happens. Not that I know alot, but all my mods (except one) I did myself. Check my bumper my blood is engraved in there somewhere. Granted, some of us are shy and look to you guys (the ol' schools) to extend that hand. Afterall, at one point you all were noobs too. Anyways, moot point just wanted to answer your question.

Stuff like this happens. It's how we behave/carry ourselves when it does that seals the deal. I told you how I felt and you responded. I'm probably one of the calmest people in my group until someone calls me out and you called that lady out. Again, you apologized so that should be squashed & summed up to a lesson learnt.

Of course the FD's on the trailer were ******* bad ***, down right amazing. Probably the Best 7s I've seen at any meet or show. The category list for the show didn't lend any favoritism to the Best cars, just the Best Show cars. So if you want best car, the red or yellow 7. The Best Show Car for people who like that kinda stuff and for the 90% of the people who showed, they voted for what they thought was the best. Since the rotary guys and gals were in small numbers, we just got out voted. Life goes on and the Turbocharged Mazda 3 is the Best of Show. That kid worked his *** off and installed all that stuff in 2 days.

His car didn't start because of one bad crimp in the engine bay. Not a big issue and to have that be the only problem after installing and tuning in 2 days, awesome job.

I think anyone who truly loves cars can appreciate someone who works and mods their own car.

It is simple we don't like you. We love 7's, we like respectful 7 owners. We just hate your stupid ***.

To disrespect any woman just shows you are an animal that does not deserve to breath.

If you think anyone from our group is going to let something like this be forgotten you are as stupid as you look.

The problem between the 8 and 7 is you. You have a chip on you shoulder and one day someone is going to knock it off along with your head.

So far your group has alienated
Mazda 3’s
RX8’s
Miata’s
Protégé’s

And to blame all these groups for your stupid antics is laughable.

Your group has had nothing but issues… The homestead issue, the website issue and now this issue.

If you really think a beat up POS with miss matched wheels and a bad paint job should win anything, you fail at life and should shoot yourself.

Maybe instead of blaming everything and everyone around you; you should get a job paint your car and quit being a dick.

contradiction. please just appologize. I dont care where you are, you just shouldn't let yourself get that out of hand. honey is right, if the tables were reversed we are sure you would wouldnt let someone talk about your friends like that.

i wanted to respond to honey and mantis, they have been very informative and friendly the 2 meets I have been to they were part of. I don't understand what the - is between the 7/8 and one group stands here the other there at same meet?
I am not sure what you are saying here, but let me say something....

our club, the flrx8club is a strong club because we as a group make decision. we have no control or pride independent of our love for our club and our 8s. i am sure you feel the same way, but you are not portraying it in the same manner. we like everyone else, love to go to car meets and meet other clubs, that is how we are learning about our 8s.....the 7 club has so much to offer the 8club because you have more experience....

just think bigger....you are representing this board when you are out there as a member....especially because you use this site to communicate vs a separate site for your specific club.

the floridarx8club keeps that in mind. we represent the SE region's attitude for the rx8club. if you arent interested in growing the group, go independent. that way when you are mad it's just you, not the Central Fla Club or the So Fla Club that looks upset.

it is sad to hear Val for Pres is hanging up his spurs....

but when it comes down to it, no one cares about who is in charge....or who is VP or whatever. It's about the cars. When it isnt about the cars, people will stop coming.....

....unless! you start throwing gang signs which wouldnt go to far at an autocross.....
