I'm sorry, but to me that isn't a great excuse. You really can't blame anyone who put on the meet that more RX-7's didn't attend.
And these events started simply as a way to get Mazda owners together to talk about cars, share knowledge, and have fun. The show aspect was just one part of the entire meet.
And I'm not sure what "some honda's" has to do with it. I guess we're not welcome? I've owned and worked on Mazdas in the past, and just because I'm not driving one now shouldn't mean I'm not suppossed to be around. I volunteered to setup the caravan from Cocoa to Tampa, and even added the stop to meet up with the Orlando RX-7 guys so we could all ride over together. And all this with just "some honda". I went to the meet for the reason it was intended. To hang out with friends, make new ones, and to see some nice cars.
If people simply can't accept that, it really makes me wonder..
wait, why the hell are all the protege owners on the board now? this is rx7 club, you had frontwheeldriveapoolaza and a shiny new trophy, let us at least have our board.
i didn't give two ***** about them being at the show, because it was a mazda event, it went how it went ah well. but did you just come on here to justify yourself? because no one really said much in person about all this save for rob.
and beside the fact, the yellow rx7 seemed to me more than equal in show than the winner.

naaaa. it was more like the scene from leathal weapon 1 where Mel gibson was contemplating killing him self. and looking at the pic of his wife with his pistol in his hand.. about to blow his head off.. I just sat there and stared at my 3rd place trophy crying, with my piston in my hand..

lol that was pretty funny lol
ok mazda6s...now who's being immature? you're playing the typical internet ****** and trying to take the moral high ground b/c you were "o so calm" when rob was going off. ok great...so if you were really mature, you should stfu and just let everyone interpret the happenings on their own and make up their own mind rather than spout off your nonsense and make elementary photoshop pictures that you post up on all your forums to get a juvenile giggle out of your buddies.

i like being a ******. and i was the only ****** that actually told him to stfu and i am a little college bastard with nothing better to do all day so this will continue untill i feel better. Do you want to join in as well?
so let me get this straight an rx7 didnt win..haha jk.. but seriously, rx7's are by far the best car mazda has ever made. hands down..and i'm not being bias. If you are to make a 6 or 3 or a protocrap look as good as a 7 youd have to do a lot. 7's came out of the factory looking good. so it's not a new car but it's the closest mazda has come to a supercar. sorry just giving my two pennies. There should have been more 7's there, to bad they are rare and you don't see them passing by every five seconds (mazda 3) and anyone can afford them..well almost. anyway, sal, keep the bottle to the up position. haha....
OK, what i dont get is how a relitivly stock mazda 6 with almost no internals other then the ovious riceness (tvs, audio, rims, cosmetics) beats a simlar rx-7 (has cosmetics and engine work done, but OH NO no blasting audio or tvs in car (cuz its a race car)) Even so, the red fd has similar attributes and still dident get an award which was still shitty.
Not to mention the mazda 6 was AUTOMATIC!!!
One more thing, that korean kid in the white rx8 was a friggin trash talker. I wished rob woulda beat his *** too. I personally saw the kid getting pissed at the judges because supposly he got a bad score and was yelling at em saying" Look at all my awards".

I agree with Tweak...
It sounds like a GOOD thing that I didn't drive 3 hours just to see some DUMB *** whine because his "Advanced Auto Parts Special" custom Mazda 6s didn't win....
Some people just don't know what "CUSTOM" means, they bolt on a bunch of CHEAP **** and think their car is custom...

All nonsense aside, the meet was what it was. Seems like the RX-7 owners are upset because there weren't enough rotaries. Best way to solve that is to get more rotary owners to go.
But here's the thing though, I see a lot of complaints about how supposedly awful the event was, and even a few people saying they wish there wa a good Florida rotary event. So let me get this straight, people here want a great event just for them, but want someone else to set it up. Then if they go to a meet that isn't rotary only, they complain because rotaries don't show up. So rather than focus on setting up a rotary meet of your own, some choose to simply bad mouth the other people who went to the event.
Sure, you believe that RX-7's are the best Mazda ever built (and I honestly would be very hard-pressed to argue that matter), but this was an event for Mazda enthusiasts of all kinds. Why can't people just be satisfied that people went through a lot of trouble to get this set up so everyone could have fun? I mean, the event was FREE to attend, the show was FREE to enter, and there were over $2500 in raffle prizes given if you chose to buy a few raffle tickets.
I would love to see the next event have more RX-7's than Proteges, but I feel that will never happen because there honestly just seems to be no way to please some of you (READ: Some, not all. Many were very cool).

If I wasnt there rob wouldve busted the korean rx8 owners face in, and I feel bad for the guy that let rob call his girlfriend a stupid white bitch, what a punk. I tried to keep him calm but to no prevail. Oh well, ROb is a loose canon and I <3 him. He made the meet very intresting. Congratulations to the mazda 3 owner for winning best of show, but how sad is it when a econo car cant start up before the beasty unreliable rotary? What was wrong with the 3 btw?
Well that is true card, and respect for organizing it all together. But just be honest and say this was a protege and mazda 3,6 event. I mean when most of the prizes were for those suggest cars.
This said, i would gladly pay 10 or 20 dollars for an event that had some food or at least some refreshments. Many of us rx-7 peeps were hungry and thirsty and dident want to pay 20 bucks for 1 hotdog and 1 soda. Maybe also we need some entertainment like some bigass speakers blasting music or something like that.

I dident see exactly what the mazda 3 owner was doing, but i overheard something about putting something in real fast and just twisting wires together. Seems like he changed some injectors and twisted the pigtail wires together from the injector plugs. I think they came undone from the heat or movement and he had to twist them backtogether.
But dont take my word for it, im just going on what i heard and saw
