Phil I'll volunteer. I've been to the Gap several times and usually lead a group up to the blue ridge once a month or so in the summer. Plus I just got my FD up and running reliably, I'm no in the mood to trash it. I've had some track time as well.

On another note we might also want to see about doing a run thrugh the Charahalaa Skyway as well. It's not as nasty as the Gap is and it's a good 2-3hr ride. It goes so high up that the last time I did it on the 600 I felt like I was riding a 250.(very high altittude)

 

Lots of guys I've talked to rave about the skyway, says it's well worth the trip.

 

He is but we have yet to put it in the paper. It is a fun car.

 

Who's meeting up in Knoxville or Maryville on the way to the gap?

 

Yeah, I've heard the same thing. I'd be up for running that also. Could take a group on Saturday from either side of Deals Gap down to the parkway and ride it, or even possibly after lunch Sunday in TN do the same thing. It might make a long day of driving on Sunday for some with long rides back home afterwards but we've all probably done longer road trips that were't half as fun.

If you want to volunteer, meet us at the main office of Fontana Village around 7:15AM. We'll head out to the dragon for an hour or so and we'll discuss about how we should organize the run.

I'm going to help out on this but prefer not to lead since I have to help video the event. I'll be most likely standing on the side of the road filming.

Far as Charahalaa skyway, I would love to go! Since we really don't have any plans for sunday, I figure we could head up there sunday early afternoon. After we check out from fontana and after we had our breakfast.

Chattanooga to Deal's Gap:
Meeting at Hamilton Place Mall at 4:30-5:00 (Eastern Time)

The Hamilton Place Blvd exit is exit 4A and it is 3.1 miles passed the I-24/I-75 merger


At the end of the long ramp, you'll come to a couple of red lights that are real close together. Go straight through both of them and look to the right. We will be meeting in the middle of the parking lot.

The parking lot will be roughly between Profitts and Parison's.
