March 25th will be the Grand Prix of Miami followed by the Indy 300 March 26th at Homestead Miami Speedway.

They are allowing car clubs to park inside, and the car club with the most people will be awarded a parade lap prior to the start of the Rolex GrandAM race. The pricing is TBD, but expect a bit more than the $20 General Admission fee. There will be security for the cars and each car is insured while on property. The admission will also include a paddock pass.

Here's why we should come together as a Rotary Family and attend (this means any Rotor, .

Speedsource will be running their new 3 rotor GT cars at this race! (<--that's enough for me anyway). They may (and this is complete hearsay) even park some of the ST cars we've grown to love with us. Goldin Brothers will also be there with their 3 rotor GT car.

The race will be through out the infield, except it will use Nascar turns 3 and 4 so the speeds will be great. (<--tell me your mouth doesn't water thinking about those 3 rotors in full song entering turn one).

 

This seems like it would be a lot of fun. Hm... If my car is all done and tuned by then I'll be making it out to this event.

Here's an idea: instead of having many small different Mazda clubs competing against each other (RX-7, RX-8, Protege, Miata, etc), why not get all the clubs together and sign up as one big Mazda club and increase our chances of getting on the track?

 

bcuz rx7s and rx8s are rotary and we stand out more and make it seem more like a real club den just having all the mazdas in the world as 1 big car club... lmfao0o0 u guys are just scared that the rotary club is gonna win

I will be there I live very close also. And I would rather be in a club with Proteges and Miatas if we could cruise a lap (imagine the video footage). While the rotary club itself has an ok chance to win if everybody turns out, the parade lap would be guaranteed if we all join up. Oh well I'll be there just to see the 3 rotor kick ***.

I would be interested in being part of this great meet of RX7's.. Lets all work together to try to get as many 7's together...maybe if the So Fla RX7 club is up by then we can have tee shirts to represent all the way.. wouldnt that be cool ?

No, rotaries are not going to win, sorry. S2K International (S2000) or PCA (Porsche) is, or maybe the Corvette club or some exotic car club, who knows, but it sure as hell won't be the rotaries. There are much bigger clubs out there than the rotaries that are much more into open-wheel & road racing and will be attending the race regardless of prize.

If you're too special to hang out with Proteges, that's fine. We don't have to park together or hang out together or anything, so you can "stand out" more. All we have to do is sign up under one name to clinch the free lap.

I just want a free lap. I don't care if I have to sign up under the Hyundai or Pinto clubs

 

The second one can be right around Valentine's day.... or the 1st when this guy Tommy from RX7 Mall will have his RX7 Swap Meet... from one of his posts it seems that he will be having it somewhere in Ft Lauderdale on February 1st, Like this we can all ride in a caravan up to the event and make a meet out of it...

You are right... but what do we do about the RX7Mall swap meet in Ft Lauderdale February 1st ? do we just attend it on our own... or together.. if it is too close then lets see about having some kind of program for that time around the 20th of Feb... maybe a North Miami meet at Oleta River State Park ... its a nice park.

I live right next 2 homestead speedway and i race go karts there every saturday.. i been 2 the grand am cup every year and last time all they had was old *** datsons that are like in perfect condition then they have ferrari 350z corvette but all these cars are bone stock the most any of them had wer rims and thats it.. and those wer all the clubs that wer there only like 3 or 4 but all stock..
