That was a great meeting on Saturday! Met lots of great rotary folks, just wish I would have had my car out of the paint shop on time. Picked up the car today and it looks better than when I bought it in 1980. I'll be ready for the next meet. Here's a before and after...

Thanks AGreen, this could not have been done without the help of this forum and it's members! I've been waiting a long time for this and cannot believe it's done.
The black interior is still all stock with new carpet, rebuilt seats/door panels, window regulators, door/window seals, dash cap, and I painted all the faded plastic trim pieces. May eventually add a new stereo system but right now I'm just enjoying listening the rotary "music".
Keep those RX-7's running...

AWE man, I wish you would have had her saturday, she is beautiful!!! I always find it very inspiring when people have (and still love) a car for that long... hopefully I can say that someday too. Please bring it to DGRR next year, there are several guys like you who are original owners of their 1st gens, it will be a blast!
On the part about the next meet having a drive, I think it would need to be first, early in the morning, before the actual meet. Our cars naturally attract ALOT of unwanted attention, and morning seems to be the time of day were, not only are the roads clear, but free of the guys with those annoying flashing blue lights mounted to the tops of their cars I have yet to get pulled over in the 8 (knock on wood and kiss my scanner) and I am not looking forward to it.

Yes, local shop called J L Dowling Paint & Body. The work done was top rate with great attention to detail. I highly recommend their work. Here is a link to a few more pics of their work:

I don't mind you asking but I'm not sure the paint shop would want to me to advertise the cost since it probably varies quite a bit depending on the amount of work to be done. All you need to do is stop by for a quick estimate, you might be surprised.
My impression was that the owner (Johnny) is a really hardworking guy that obviously takes great pride in his work. The paint actually looks better than what you see in the pictures!

Wow, that looks excellent. Always nice to see a good looking first gen still roaming the streets.
I saw this ad in Hemmings the other day:

What a beautiful mint interior. The mileage may actually be too low for something that old. Those mechanicals didn't get much use.
