it's been a while since we have had a big meet here in the tampa bay area. i know there have been small meets here and there as i am a member on this board and the tampa racing board. last meet that was significant enough to me was at least a few years ago when some guys from the south(i believe they came from miami and the dade areas)came down and had a scheduled meet at hillsborough state park, then hung out with us @ some late night weekend street spots. maybe we should look into having a meet here again somewhere in the centrally located tampa bay area. tell me what you guys think. i know everyone makes threads like this, but let's actually do this....!

Trying to get us RX-7 owners together is like herding cats. At times it seems we couldn't organize a picnic for ants. I've posted to several threads where people float the idea of getting together, but most times it never seems to come off.

I'm game for another try. I think a meet during the daytime on a weekend is best because that's when most people are free to make it. Some park, as you mentioned, is a good idea too. There certainly are enough of them around. So pick a place and a day and we'll see if this time it happens.

 

ill throw a day out there and place but both are highly negotiable

we can rent a pavillion. everyone bring about $5 to cover food and drinks. i think that is reasonable. there is the idea let's take that and run with it.

for those that may not know, Raymond James Stadium is the home of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. ill just throw that out there so it may give you a better idea where it is if you didnt know what raymond james was

Hey, looks like we've got some momentum going. I'll PM a couple of RX-7 owners I can think of to see if I can get them to join us.

seventhgear I don't know how much trouble we want to go to for food preparation. I'd be willing to buy us a couple of large pizzas and bring some sodas and be done with it. Dominos would deliver to the park, I'd think. If not, I could always make a food run.

I haven't either. I figure we can just show up in the parking lot. We're going to be there looking at the cars anyway. But are you still coming even if your car isn't running?

I could have swore there was another Mazda meet planned for that day somewhere in central Florida, I'll try to dig it up if I can.

i didnt get the memo that i had to drive a mazda to a meet if i wanted to participate.i could care less what i drive there. Just have not been to a mazda meet in so long i figured we could put something together.... maybe ill take my SEMI. believe me though i'd love to be driving my rx-7 but money is an issue and the issue is , i dont have any

 

well if there is another meet scheduled the same day then we can't do it then. maybe we can just participate in the sonic meet, and plan for a later date.

 

Another Tampa attempt bites the dust. Oh well, I tried.
I'm not a big fan of night meets. Standing around in the dark at a Sonic's trying to peer into the engine bay of some Honda with a sewer pipe exhaust isn't my idea of a fun time.

 

yea it sux ...... i tried.. the park meet sounds ideal.. im not going to try to plan a meet that conflicts with another meet. hopefully someone can help me out...


let's keep the same meeting place and change the when.....
someone throw out a day they think is good and we can all try and settle with that. im open to suggestions...
