the track with rotaries
hello rotor heads.a few months back i was at moroso and i saw a few 3 gens nice looking but running down the track and the times that all of them did were really a shame.i saw a yellow 3 gen,red 3 gen and like a light brown color it belongs to a guy that i saw before on the pictures with the black rx7 club shirt.these cars were doing 18,17,16 seconds and the red in the 12 seconds.i hear these people talking of their cars like rotary rockets.yea when u go to the track its when u really prove what u have.example siguel racing from puerto rico 3 rotor 6.81@200 miles,pica racing 1985 body metal 1 gen 7.40@184 miles and have the national record in the n.h.r.a http://videos.streetfire.net/categor...8C420FB28A.htm http://videos.streetfire.net/categor...CADD2B8767.htm

maybe some of us just like going to the track to have "fun". its a strange concept i know but it also too maybe some of us realize 7's are prone to breaking on the track as that night proved right for 2 of us here. Who gives a crap what these ran THAT night. alot has to do with how deep your pockets are to fix stuff, how good a driver you are, if this is your daily driver and if you really care that much to put down amazing times that these cars CAN do. thats just my 2 cents and obviously 2 cents aint much..... the 14th sounds good to me too.

Good point brother, cost me an engine (Slipping clutch overreved and kaboom!). Well got a new clutch and engine and willing to try again, but unless I get some sort of sponsorship I think I will take it a litle easier of the line and through the gears this time. Remember that most of these cars are true steet cars w/ A/C's, stereos, power windows etc.

Actually phills reason for his times was the car was still being tuned at the time and he didn't want to get on it, simons excuse was a fairly small turbo that is now upgraded, and my excuse is that I can't launch any better without getting wheelhop. But I think going to the track is still fun even if i have sucky times, theres somtimes i just roll my car of the line just to take my car down the track. So i'll see everyone on friday.....

Tonight would be perfect(chk the radar-> http://www.local10.com/wxmap/1808089/detail.html
hope it holds up) If the weather holds up It will be worth it. who knows what will happen next week. By the way gas prices are supposed to soar all next week so those worried about how far it is now is the perfect time.

+1 for this thread
Of course every rotary in Puerto Rico runs 6s but I hope no one gets discouraged from going to the track. There is nothing better you can do than go to the track, I don't care if you have 450 horsepower and still run 16s. I respect all those guys that showed up to Moroso much more than the street ricers that cause accidents and make us look bad and our insurance prices go up. By going to the track you are supporting Moroso so they won't close it, but most of all getting valuable practice so you can actually learn how to drive down the 1/4 mile in 11 seconds or less. There are many reasons a car can run a bad time, driveline failures, traction, driving mistakes. But 50% of the cars here have enough power to go 12s, and they will eventually get there if they keep practicing. So you guys go, even if some of us are not ready , have a great time and use your car for what it was made for.

Hey Roland what's up man? let us know when you go back to Moroso, like you said we do need the practice. I did horribly Friday night, only did two passes(it was insanely packed and there was a accident when I arived). I am swapping out my piece of crap "chipped ECU" and going the Power FC route. Well the first run was all my mistake, took it easy off the line and then missed 3rd when I got into it, the second pass the damn ECU was not allowing me to make boost past 7PSI till 3rd gear(stock settings don't allow full boost till engine is warmed up to a certain point). Neeless to say both runs were in the 14's but I am not getting discouraged and niether should anyone else lets all give it another try!

Yea, sorry I left so early. I was so doing really bad and my launches weren't working for me. Also that accident just made me impatient and I didn't think I'll do any better on the 3rd run. Maybe we can setup another one with more rx7, I dont think im going again till i fix my suspension. But i did have fun time.

It was a 5.0 that was insanely fast he ran a 10 im pretty sure but lost it and got sideways. He hit the barrels towards the end of the run and by some grace of God he didnt flip that guy was lucky as hell... He lost a belt halfway into the run im not sure if thats what caused him to crash

yes as a matter of fact i was going to set that up. Im getting a few things done (including my cracked windshield that kept me from running last time) and i was thinking end of the month or beginning of August. We gotta have more 7's go this time tho. Anybody who is interested or has suggestions bring em on so we can get this thing set up and make it legit!
