See people think that the jspec motors are solid and in actuality they are not.. the seller will tell you that it has less than 40k miles on it but you dont know for sure..there is no way of telling... so i think you bought a bad motor.. did you get it from a reputable source... go to them and let them know...

we've all been through this at one time or another, if you are young i dont recommend RX's anyways, unless its an RX-8 in which you have a warranty. i could use your engine if you want to sell it, i work part time at a junkyard, so let me know.

You don't say what generation car you have, but if it's an FD, I don't see how you're going to get away for less than about $4,000 - $5,000. You wouldn't want an $800 rebuild even if such a thing was available. Only a quality rebuild or engine replacement is worth doing. Anything less is just pissing away money when your "bargain" rebuild blows up.

The one thing you may be able to play with is financing. Anybody who has a credit card should be able to talk their credit card company into lowering the rate into the 12% to 14% range by threatening to switch credit card companies.
I consider even that rate range too high, and you might be able to investigate other possibilities such as having the rebuilder extend you credit or taking out a personal loan using the car as collateral.

Maybe you should learn when someone is joking or not before you choose to make an *** out of yourself?

Okay, guys. First stop trying to take advantage of my moron friend. And second he has a 3rd gen motor in his 2nd gen. The fact that he is only 18 or 19, makes the Rx7 suffer. Teenagers have a tendency of pushing there engine to hard. dude you have a rotary, and the only way it will last you is by treating her like a baby. If you get rip of the car for less then what you pay if for, you will completely proof my fact that you are dumb.

here try this http://www.rotaryresurrection.com/te...ion_check.html for your compression check
and heres my email if you decide you want to sell it or need help with the next 3 weeks
mazdatrix7@yahoo.com

it could be a lot of things that its causing that so start asking shops for general diagnostics of your problem, remember when you buy a engine from japan and they say it has like 30k miles dont think its good because , any rotary owner i know here in japan runs their engines to the ground, plus JCI requires them to change engines because of laws and emissions

El Nene 7 just gave you a pretty simple way to check your compression

1st, he is my friends and i met him through my best friend and what i meant by moron was that he is so f------ clueless. 2nd, he got in to rotaries because i drive a rx7. 3rd, he can drive however he wants, however, what ever happen to the engine is his fault. and 4th, i will said that 4 out 5 chances that his engine is a 13brew. I have seem 12A, 13b 4th and 5th series and REW (i do not get to see this engine that much cause my friend is always working) And I also know it can not be a 13b but a 13brew cuz of the way it is setup the oil pouring tube, the alternator, the intake manifold. I have seem kevin's engine, i doubt you might have. So if you have not, do not be telling me what it is or not.
