yeah, importatlanta is no help for us Rotorheads, they are mostly ricers over there. But as Yayo says where are you located? Also the seal replacement is not exactly a fast and easy job but since its a 1st gen it shouldnt be all that hard once its all stripped down.

i'm in dunwoody right off of 400 northbridge rd... can drive it anywhere... but hell i need to order the seals and everything... still trying to find those damn things... between work and ***** not alot of time to do research on getting seals.. may have to order them online.

guess the other thing is would the car hold up on a 4 hour trip to valdosta GA. that is wher ei need to get to on Jan 6 and then back to atl for me job.

other than that... if it will last me a while longer i can wait.. but i don't know i hit 7k rpms a good bit but sence i have noticed it i have tried to keep it under 5 and hwy is under 4. i just don't want the preassuer building up and blowning it out. hell i'm happy to do all the work i just need to know that i'm doing it right. you can sit back and drink beer. but then again 2 peps working on it can take it loose quicker. I could also have the AC off of it be anything else ... thinking of taking the dead weight off anyways.

that's a big job...tow it to Mazcare, they'll take care of you.

check you're PCV...it might be the reason the seal failed...front cover gaskets just don't go blowing.

Just let it leak?? really? well i guess i will meet some of yall at the meet on 23rd ran it by the GF and she is kewl with it.... yeah have to run it by the GF because we might as well be married.

I just don't need to car to go to crap on me. also it is the front seal and the oil pan gasket. oil pan gasket no prob... front seal on a rotory... well then that is something different.

It is also not something that i can't do my self. I would just like to make sure that it is done right .. and i would hat to get it apart and not have the tools to fix it. hence getting help with it would make it easier. and someone with the tools that would be needed would make it easier as well.

what ever yall think i don't know these cars... but please say it is ok and it be ok.. i don't need to buy another car anytime soon... or a motor. if it is good then i'm kewl with it... if not i wiould rather fix it and spend the 100$ to get it fixed than the 2k for a new motor.

I should have been a mech instead of a computer geek. but oh well.. look yall i'm just worried... **** get bad sometimes on everyone and i would rather prevent it than to go though what i did 2 years ago with 3 cars in 4 months time.

Ok i talked with Ray on the phone last night. got some good advice that i'm going to give a shot first. and that has to do with real good stop leak.so will give that a shot and see if i can't find the leak first... It looked like it was the seal and really don't know will have to watch it close to make sure if it is or it is not.. could very well be oil from the oil pan gasket crawling up th motor. oh well will see if i can't track it down and get back with yall about it ..

thx for the help

Do not use any type of Stop Leak. Replace the gasket.

Get a cherrypicker, and pull the motor. Do it right. You can do it all over the weekend. 12A is the easiest of the rotarys to work on. Get the manual and follow it step-by-step.

Yeah, I would agree with David on this, don't use the stop leak in the engine. When you say front seal, are you talknig about the front main engine seal or just the front cover gasket?

Oh yeah never use any stop leak in the engine, very bad indeed. Just do as others have said pull the engine and do it right or take it to mazcare. Its not that difficult to pull the engine in a FB at all.

maybe not difficult... but in an apartment complex that doesn't allow for cars not to be running. and don't have a cherry picker... guess i can just let it ride out till sumer then would be better weather to get it done. all these mixed responces... guess different ways to fix the car. then again i am stil not sure that it is a seal... will have to replace oil pan gasket first and then degrease the motor.

ok... you obviously dont know whats wrong with your car. is there a piddle of oil under you car, or is there BLUE smoke spewing out from your tail pipe?

gaskets and seals are two different things.
