I think I will set up one of those online petition type things that we can use to spand multiple websites (at least this one, rx8club, and msccnc). Anyone ever done one before!?
I got some early information on the lap battle setup (it will be up on the gtlive site tonight but thought i'd paraphrase it for you now since someone on the 8club asked about it). The deal is this, for the $99 you can get about 20 laps to post your fastest lap time if you run all 3 days. There is no elimination... just keep runing until you get a really fast time or the time runs out haha. At the end the winners are who ever gets the top 3 fastest laps over the 3 days for each manufacturer category. The drivers are devided into 4 groups of 20. There is 1 hour (50min drive time, 10min change time) for each group each day to do runs (with 1 extra hours for groups 1 and 2 on friday, and 1 extra hour for groups 3 and 4 on saturday). For each session, every group participant can run 5 times (so long as there aren't any problems) and more than that if there are less than 20 cars in that group. There is no requirement to run all 3 days, only a requirement to attend the mandatory drivers meeting on the day(s) you run. There are also no warm up, practice, or cool down laps. On sunday from 3-4 there will be 'orientation runs' for first timers who want to try out the track (ie if you run in the battle, you can't run in orientation). $10 a lap for that.
edit: haha Nic beat me to it...

Bobby, these orientation laps...are they on the full course or the patriot course? And damn, 10 bucks a lap, I guess they want to pull in as much as possible??? I might just wait for the holiday laps in Dec.

Plan for Sunday's Caravan up to VIR on 10/08
So from what I've read we meet at the Morrisville Cracker Barrel around 7:00 AM for breakfast. Those that miss breakfast be there by 8:00 AM for the drive up to VIR. We'll get there before 10:00 and stay as long as we can stand it. We'll observe our newest tradition when we leave the CB, assemble in the parking lot and reverently enjoy Willie Nelson's rendition of "On the Road Again" before hittin' the road again. Everybody that has one bring a CD and we'll play'em on all our audio systems at the same time.

I was thinking we should leave CB by 7 at the latest if we want to be able to park at the MazdaSpeed booth. Booby, any more info on that? If we roll in there with 7 or 8 cars along with anyone else that shows up will they have enuff room?

50 huh.. well that leaves about 25 spaces if everyone from the RRDI meet shows up! I'm still thinking about coming up there Saturday afternoon to catch the race from 3-9pm IF I can sneak out of work early.

. It's only right to have GT Live full of rotaries haha. FYI, there are two 8 owners from the rx8club that plan on meeting us there, moonrover from maryland and jwitzer from charlotte. Hopefully before the week is out I can scrounge up a few more guys from that side. So is the departure time 7 or 8 officially?
