Grand Rotary Rally '05 (AKA GRR)
Announcing...
The Grand Rotary Rally of 2005 is here!!
When?
Saturday, August 6th
Where?
Starting at Falls Dam off Falls of Neuse Road, and fellowshipping at the farm off Highway 98.
Why?
Food, fellowship, and rotaries! …what other reasons do you need?
What time?
We will meet at 3PM, and depart from Falls Dam around 3:30. We will be eating dinner around 4:30.
If you are going to be late, or need to leave early, we understand... we all *gasp* have lives outside of our cars! For those who want to stay later, we may have a bonfire at the farm, depending on how late people choose to stay.
How much?
$5 per person
Who?
Girlfriends and significant others (and kids) are welcome! (Just thought I should add that. Haha)
Any Rotary (or fellow rotorhead) who would like to come, may join us! You don't have to be a rotorhead from the Raleigh area... this is for everyone!
Anything else?
We will take plenty of photos, and there will be lots of opportunities for some fun around some local back roads (somewhat legal fun). If you just got new suspension mods, this will be great for you!
How do I get there?
Here's Falls Lake's official site, if you need any assistance in getting to Falls Dam:
http://www.ils.unc.edu/parkproject/visit/fala/home.html
On their map, the dam is just off to the left at the bottom right. The Dam can be found on Falls of Neuse just before you go back up a hill and end up right in front of Wakefield High school. Falls of Neuse then ends at a light, and 98 begins, or New Falls of Neuse is to the right.
Call Christina if you're lost or running late. Please PM and RSVP asap with the number of people you're bringing.
Let's make this GRR AWESOME!

**SIDE NOTE**
SUNDAY AUGUST 7th.........
Just to repost what GTUser announced on a separate thread:
Anyone that wants to caravan up to VIR for the SCCA's Oak Tree Nationals will leave the Briar's Creek Shopping Center off of Glenwood Ave at 9:00 AM for the drive up to Virginia International Raceway. Tickets for the day are $15 for the day. Go here for more details about VIR:
http://www.virclub.com/cms/index.ph...ntpage&Itemid=1
It normally takes us about an hour and twenty minutes to drive up. If some want to meet earlier for breakfast at the Cracker Barrell in Morrisville then we can do that about 7:30. I will be at the Cracker Barrell at 7:30 AM on Sunday, August 7.

We had 35 plus cars at last years GRR. We had a great time last year, and hopefully this year will be even better.
I will spend some time this weekend routing out a fun drive. Obviously, there will be no breaking the law, but there are a lot of nice backroads out that way. Hopefully this 100+ degree weather will have broken by then.
Christina, I am going to copy and paste your original post on the RX8Club. It is after all the Grand Rotary Rally.

I'm going to find directions this weekend, cuz I just go when I go... it's hard for me to explain how to get there, so I'll post by Monday.
I do need to know who can come, so we can get a head count, and know how much groceries we need to buy.
Friday night, David and I are going to Freaky Friday at Fayetteville, so if anyone wants to come down, that would be awesome.
David REALLY wants to race an FD. Any takers?

Oh, and David has a friend he's bringing down who has a TII (he's a Navy guy). Does anyone have a place that Paul could stay Friday evening after Freaky Friday so he can make it to the picnic on Saturday? He would go back up to Norfolk Saturday night. Paul's screenname on here is 88convert if you want to talk to him first. Please call me or PM me and let me know if someone has a room for him. He doesn't have a crowd of RX-7 people up in Norfolk, cuz he just moved from Charleston. He's lookin for new friends.
Lemme know. Thanks!

We want the GRRofNC to be time when all rotary owners can bring their cars and show off what they have done with their babies and, meet and talk to other owners, learn more about the rotary engine and gain a greater appreciation for our truly unique cars. If you own a rotary engined vehicle of whatever make and it runs plan on stopping by on Saturday and making your presence known. You don't have to live in NC or have a car registered in NC to be a part of the Grand Rotary Rally of NC, North Carolina is just where the gathering is held.
