Garage floor paint

Well I know I'm not a 7 owner anymore but I still hang out here more than anywhere else on the net for some reason...

Anyway I just finished paining my garage floor so I thought I'd show it off. I wanted to use Griot's garage floor paint but 1 gallon only did 100 square feet. With 900 square feet to paint I couldn't afford it so I went with the cheap stuff that Home Depot and Lowe's sells. It turned out great so I'm happy. I just hope it holds up to the abuse I'll be putting it through. Next on the list for the garage is a lift!

that looks pretty nice. wish my garage would stay dry long enough to do that. it would probably also help if i didn't have a car that had to stay in there for the moment.

That must have took forever!
You must have way too much time on your hands...lol
But it does look good.

I was a little disappointed in the color of mine. The grey on the box was a lot darker than the finished product. It seems it has a little too much of a blue tint in it. Once I get all my stuff moved back in I'm sure it will be fine but I'd prefer it darker...

Damnit, quit bitching about the color not being perfect. At least you don't have to lie on gravel >_<

Yeah I know I should just be thankful. I went from no garage to 3 garages. Believe me, I still just go out there to just sit to take it all in. I got really lucky that my wife liked the rest of the house. I could have cared less about the rest of it, all I saw was the room in the garages!

Very Nice, I'm also in the middle of doing this as well. I've prepped mine, repaird the cracks, pressure washed it, and such. Had to resurface a few concrete sections as the new slab got rained on, but I should be doing this pretty soon. I still haven't figured out if acid-etching the concrete will destroy the latex based crack filler, but hopefully not

Here's the stuff I'm using, Lowes just started carying it in the paint section. Box has everything and is cheaper than buying the stuff separetly.

- 2 times stronger than concrete for the toughest garage floor
- One coat gives beautiful semi-gloss finish
- Durable, high-solids 2-part water-based epoxy
- No hot tire pickup
- Low odor
- Kit comes complete with Bond•Lok Cleaner and Color Flakes
- Available in dark & light stained colors (blue, red, green, tan, white, etc..)

heath,
I did the same thing to mine, but with the TII, GSL-SE, my 77 FJ40 landcrusier, my work bench, my freezer, and my tool boxes I can't get a picture of the floor to show you. I did do gray and got it from Home Depot. It was a one part setup. My neighbor did the two part at lowes and it started to peel after about One month. Mine is 7 years old and well other then over spray from painting things and stain from wood working it still looks great. I plan one day to pull everything out and lay down a new coat after I sell the FJ and finish a few other messey projects.
