Ok folks I have taken the dive.

Here are two proposed dates for a get know the local seven crowd.

Dates to choose last Saturday of this month September 30th or first weekend of October Saturday the 7th.

Time would be 10:00 am. This allows for late sleepers and far travelers.

I feel good about the Cherry Branch Ferry for the starting place. Ferry is free and about a twenty minute ride across the Neuse. Hopefully this will be a good photo opportunity on the ferry. From there its a road trip through rural swamp land or back towards New Bern etc.

Lets get it started!

Sounds good. My vote goes to the 30th, for us military guys that's a payday weekend and Oct 7th is a holiday weekend where some of us might have other plans.

Just to let you know, if your interested, a few of us are going to cruise up to Raleigh on September 23rd.

Ya, I remember my military days! I still miss getting 30 days off a year. So far two weeks has been the most for any job I have had since getting out! Its hard to remember how I killed that much vacation all those years!

Well, not everyone will get the holiday you mentioned. I don't get it. However I may take that day off anyways. My wife is off.

edit: jason, keep me posted on that trip to raleigh, we can try and get everyone to go up there too.

How big do you think the turnout will be and ho long you plan on staying out I can round up a few 7's in Jacksonville whenever you decide the official date but i think Oct 7th would be good.

 

but the sept 30th is payday weekend for military, so i'm sure me (and every other military 7 owner) would feel alot more comfortable burning gas money right after payday.

Right Hand 7-if you wanted to round up sevens from j-action-ville area that would be great. I know impulsive-rx7 would be down, i'm pretty sure jebenkurac from CP will go to...if he gets his car running. I know there's alot more 7's in your area though...so round em up and we should have a pretty good turnout.

As for me, I'll go even if it's only 3 of us lol. Just another excuse to go driving and take pictures!

Can't say on how many will turn out. Wish I could say. Maybe if we had dancing girls or something! Fact is the more people that turn out the better time we will have. I think posting pictures after the meet could help people get more excited than anything else. Once you meet, get to know people and gather that core group of people togather plans can be made to make it better for everyone.

Keep posting your date choices! Next weekend I will have to make a decision on the date so people have enough time to make plans.

Yeah we got a good group from here in jville heading up to raleigh this saturday coming up.Jason said were meeting around 3:30,dont know exactly where were meeting up yet but we could meet at Imports Plus the parking lot is pretty big and we could head out from there.

 

seeing as december wasn't an option, I say the 30th as well

Give me a heads up on the run to Raleigh. I think I can make it and I have been wanting to get up there. Not sure where Imports Plus is either. Keep me up dated I have a forty plus mile drive from Havelock.

Well the meeting place i suggested is Imports Plus on 24 and bellfork good size parking lot and the only Rotary shop in miles.Jason said we should meet at 3:30 dont know exactly what time should leave from there but thats a good start to gather and caravan up to raleigh.Hopefully the raleigh crew will have a good amount of their people there so we can have a good size meet with all the rotorheads from down in this area.

 

Man, wish i wasn't working this saturday But i definitly want to do the cruise. If you all plan another trip to Raleigh sometime, i'll be good to go with like a two weeks notice.

 

I should be in for the 30th. Also would like to go to Raleigh again sometime soon too.

Hey guys, if you can't make the RRDI this weekend I wanted to let you know that we are getting a group together to drive down to Goldsboro for the Wayne County Air Show on October 15th and on November 4th we're going down to Wilmington for the Brits and Battleship Car Show at the USS NC Battleship Memorial Park. Not trying to discourage anyone from coming up to Raleigh but wanted to let you know about those upcoming trips. It would be great to see y'all at one or both of those events. I'll announce the details on a new thread once we know what time we'll be getting down to Seymour Johnson and Wilmington.

 

I can't do the sept 30th! I've got to work! What other dates are available? Is there anyway to change it to sunday the 31st (or 1st)?

Just remember this won't be the last meet! Looks like we may have alot of activities when our J-ville club gets on its feet! Like I said when I started this thread I would like to travel and meet other seven clubs. So things look like they will fall in place and even though Jville is a long drive for me I'm not planning in compeating with anyone. I know organizing has been a problem here in eastern NC. I have seen meets fall through more than have happened. My car went down right when RRDI started there meets and if you check the thread you will see I had planned to make it there long ago. Stay tuned and I'm sure we will all get togather alot!

Ok Saturday the 30th is the meet. I am busy tonight so no map or directions yet. No one has mentioned 10:am as too early so that’s the time for now. Remember we have to be together to get in line for a full ferry photo shoot. These guys take an hour lunch at noon I believe so late comers may not be in the shot. Also If anyone has a large lense, wide angle type camera that would be the greatest. Mine is just an average digital. More ideas for the meet when we get to the other side are welcome.

I'm out for the 30th. I didn't remember that I already had plans with my GF and another couple on saturday night. I'll try to go to the next meet/cruise. Y'all have a good time and get some good pics.

Alright, I think some people from Jacksonville were confused. So to clarify, this September 30th meet is in Havelock, not Raleigh. 10am at the Cherry Branch Ferry.

I'll be up there. I don't know who else from J-ville is going. Let me know if so we can caravan.

 

Thanks for helping un-confuse people Jason! People are being quiet on if they're showing or not so at least I can expect you. Looks like Right Hand 7 will be coming too thanks to you too as well! Lets make this a fun trip! I will be posting more info tonight, this has been one busy week!
