DSR next meet will be at the County LIne Dragway

Murrays will sponsoring an event on Sunday February 17, American Muscle Cars VS Imports. I would like to invite all Rotaries to come and support all the rotaries that will be competing. There will be also a car show with prices. I will be entering my 1974 Toyota Corolla with a 13b in the event to represent DSR. Don't miss out this event it will be alot of fun. Please pass the word around I know there are some people that don't go in this forum. Let's show a good number of rotary fans. See you there.

I'll try to be there. Are any of us little guys running too, or just watching? And if we do get to run, will we be crushed by some fully built domestic or will there be a variety of cars? I'm not much of a spectator....
Even though I just went 9.0 @ 87 <---------
(my Wife's pickup truck does 8.6 every time)

I am sure there is going to be different classes to include street cars.

Ok, then I'll have to mount tires that like to stay on the ground and actually press down the loud pedal a little bit. Hope it's a nice day and we get a good turnout (especially rotary). The musclecars are quite fast at that track and most of them go straight too.

You should because when we ran the Toyota on Friday night it wasn't hooking up even with racing tires. We usually run 6.00 all day, our best run was 6.6. I hope that they prepare better the track for the event, they usually do!!

Usually for Sunday events they open the gates at 8:00 am. We need to be there early to get a good spot. We will figure a time at a later date when the list of people get bigger so that the majority can agree on the time.

In my case the tires were the culprit. Stock size dry rotten and flat spotted economy tires. Left in 1st as from a normal stop sign, extreme wheelhop / let off before breaking in 2nd, lag then completely sideways in 3rd...... I brought a knife (or two knifes) to a gunfight. Fatman's red FD put 5 cars on me each time

I hope the track is well prepped for your sake, they normally do their best for big events. But you still can't turn chicken **** into chicken soup...

the domestics vs import event i went to last time had a system where the cars were evened out by the times they run. i think the faster you run throughout the day, the high you get in a bracket. when it comes down to it, the stock street cars always win being that their so slow and can keep that time pretty even cause their automatic and dont have much mistake when they run 13 lol. its more about the good matches that come every so often.

It should be a good day and not too hot in Febraury. It looks like we should have a good number of people show and have a good time. I will have my trailer, you can't missed it. It is black and long (48 feet long) I will have a big cooler for those of you that want to bring something cold to drink and a tent in case the sun is too hot. Please pass the word for those persons that don't have a computer or don't know about this forum.

Thanks

Ismael
