So I got a reckless driving ticket for going 82 in a 65, in Va. I now need to take an 8 hour class to get a certificate, so the judge will drop the ticket for having a good driving record (was my first ticket). So I went to my local DMV, per the instructions he gave me, and asked for contact information. Of the two phone numbers the lady gave me, one was out of service and the other "didn't know when more classes would be available." I've been dragging my *** on this one and time is running short.

Which leads me to a couple of questions:

1. Does it matter which state I get the certificate from? I ask because I spend a lot of time in VA and know of a place to take the class there.

2. If I have to take it in NC, can anyone suggest a place in the Wake/Johnston County area that does these kinds of classes (8 hours with a certificate).

3. What kind of time frame can I expect on receiving the certificate, as in a couple of weeks through snail mail, or they print it on the spot.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I don't want to screw up this chance to keep my clean driving record.

 

I know for a fact that PITT (greenville) has driving schools. My fiancee has taken one there before. Not sure about Wake/Johnson. Johnson county offers motorcycle cirtificate classes, so I'd suspect that would do the same for cars. Not sure on timeframe.
