Last time for this meet there was a Clearwater/Tampa caravan with 2 meets. One was at the Petsmart at Clearwater mall and then next was at a McDonalds in Tampa just off of the interstate. Maybe we could put something like that together. If there are not alot of people from the "Clearwater area" then we could all just meet up somewhere in Tampa. If you want to caravan let me know where your from and how many cars. Thanks.

Well, if everyone leaves when I leave, that defeats the purpose of me trying to get there early.

But, I'll probably be leaving a little before 10 AM.

 

Ok....so here is the plan. Anybody that wants to meet Clearwater/Tampa. The people who are closer to Clearwater we will be meeting at the Pet Supermarket (might be PetSmart, not sure) at Clearwater Mall on US 19 and Gult-to-Bay at 7:00a.m. We will wait until 7:30 for any late comers and drive up to meet the people who live in Tampa at the Sonic on Hillsborough at 7:30. I am caluculating being at the Sonic at 8:00. Then again we will wait for the late comers and head out from Sonic at about 8:30. We will then be heading to Race Rock. I figure we give ourselves about 2 hours to get there in case something hap.......well I rather not go there Anyways we should get there around 10:30 and thats perfect timing to find a good parking spot and then watch the rest of the cars roll in. Let me know if you are in for the caravan. If so, please PM me with your number and what location you will meet us at so that I can call you if your not there or so I know who to wait for. Thanks. You might be better off waiting. Race Rock will not be anticipating the big crowd until around noon, and even I won't be there that early to talk with Race Rock and find out where our designated spot is. I would ask that you please wait until at least 11:30 to get there.

 

I suppose we can wait at Walgreens acorss the street or something. I really dont want to be there when EVERYONE and their dad comes. Perhaps you should get there earlier. I know that this is not the only caravan expecting to be there so early. Nothing was mentioned about their being a time limit on how early we could be there. I know that last time there was about 20 of us that got there about 10 am and no one said anything, in fact there were about 20 cars already there when we arrived....

 

Well, it's the earliest I've seen so far. The Jax guys aren't planning on getting there until 12-12:30. You can get there whenever you want. I didn't plan the last one, so I don't know what went on and when. All I know is if I tell Race Rock sometime around noon, they might want to know why there's already 10-20 cars at 10 AM. And if they don't care, then neither do I. They told me it was my responsibility to see that our group parked in the area they set aside, so to try and cause as little confusion as possible, I'd like to be the first there. I just didn't think I'd have to be there at 10 AM to make sure I was.

 

Gotcha.

We will stay at Sonic a little longer and eat breakfast there to slow down our pace, then leave Sonic 9ish.....

Your forecast is optimistic. As much as I'd like to believe it, it's not going to happen that way. This storm is moving very slowly and will be dropping HUGE amounts of rain. You might as well count me out because I'm not driving in that.

From what I keep hearing on the news, the weather should be ok by early Saturday morning. The storm will clear the state late on Friday night, and have some rain falls during the day on Saturday (about 40% chance of rain). So in theory, it won't be THAT bad, and it will be like a typical Florida summer day. Here's the track.

 

Alan, the storm is pretty much completely out of harms way for us, they predict is to hit Louisiana now. I think it should be just fine and perhaps you should reconsider.
