Happy New Year! I hope you all had a very relaxing and fun holiday season. It slipped past me but in Dec we celebrated our 4th year in existence and oh what a 4 years it has been. We have seen this event grow from 40 cars the first outing to well over 250+ cars on our best Saturdays in our new location at the NC Music Factory! This Saturday Jan 5th seems to be in our favor with clear weather and a warm up in the high 50's low 60's! Come out and enjoy and continue to spread the word. We are getting more and more interesting vehicles from classics, to muscle and one off creations, keep them coming! Hope to see you Saturday!


Mattie's Diner was trilled to have us . They would ask that the parking spaces adjacent to the Diner in front and beside be reserved for some of Mattie's regular customers. Many drove up thinking that it was a private event and took off. Also please bare with the bathroom situation, the diner is small but will try to accommodate us the best that they can. If we need to there will be alternatives across the street at the Music Factory.


Many asked me if it was possible to reserve spaces for like makes and models and I would leave that up to the 'early bird get the worms'. You can organize as you see fit with particular makes and models, but as far as roping off before hand that is a bit hard due to the unknown size of a group or location desired. I would suggest that if you have a group that wants to park together that you designate a meet up spot close to the Music factory and ride in together, with 700+ spaces you should not have an issue. Last month it sort of fell together as such without much planning.




Mattie's Diner is a fantastic old school eatery that is located at the front of the property. Matt has made some slight changes to accommodate the size of our crowd so bare with them as they learn our needs. There will be coffee as expected, carry out baked items and sit down full breakfasts if you desire, the space is cozy so be prepared. The owner of NC Music Factory has graciously offered the use of this property and in order to respect the jester we need to do our part. Below are a few bylaws we have to follow in order to continue to use the facility. If we ware out our welcome here we are pretty much without options! I can not begin to tell you how much of a challenge it has been to relocate and find a new car friendly location!


Here are the very simple rules:


Absolutely no burnouts or horse play in the lot or the roads out front. It is irresponsible and safety is a huge concern for us. We trust your car is fast and you have unbelievable skills, there is no need to show us!


No vendors will be allowed to set up tables, booths or tents. As before you can hand out fliers if you wish but no signage or structures allowed.


The Uptown division of the Mecklenburg police department are well aware of our event and will patrol the area. Speeding and unlawful behavior will not be tolerated.


We need to leave the facilities better than we find them on each visit. NC Music Factory is letting us use this facility free of charge so we need to respect it There are trash cans throughout the property please do please do not litter.

Hello All! This Saturday April 6th marks our 1 year anniversary at the NC Music factory! Wow how time flies when you are having fun. I am very appreciative of both the Factory's and Mattie's for their hospitality and generosity to the Charlotte car crazed community. We have found a home that we can continue to thrive and grow with here in Charlotte. The central location and easy access to major roads and highways has really expanded our reach in this area and for that we are extremely thankful!

This Saturday will prove to be a real car persons dream. Cars and Coffee will kick off first thing on Saturday morning and those that have it planned can head up to Concord to the Auto Fair that is spanning Thursday through Sunday. If you have not been before it is truly a gathering of gear heads with everything you can imagine. As the weather gets nicer I hope the crowds continue to grow, but at this pace our winter months at the NC Music Factory have drawn more cars and people than our peak in the summer at North Lake! It is fun to continue to meet new people from all over as well as to see what interesting and beautiful vehicles they pull up in. Looks like Mother Nature is a car fan! Saturday Aug 3rd so far looks like sunny weather which is fantastic for Cars and Coffee! I am looking forward to getting out and about in my ride for a change this summer without it being wet! Yes it has been an unusually wet summer but the 1st Saturday of the month has been kind. We have had record crowds at the NC Music Factory which means the word of mouth method is working, keep it up. Just as a reminder, for safety reasons please refrain from burn outs, sprints and unsafe speeds in front of Mattie's we are all out to have a good time but the reckless behavior is going to result in someone getting hurt and our fun ending!

I continue to be amazed at the rate and size that Cars and Coffee of Charlotte continues to take on after 5 years. As we continue to reach out and more and more people join the fold we have found that there is a mature car crazed community here and it exceeds my expectations. With growth comes challenges and last month we seemed to have had a number of them amplified. Safety is our top priority at this gathering for both the participants and the vehicles. As the crowd grows we need to be very sensitive to these two entities. Last month we had several individuals that choose to leave the property at high rates of speed as well as do burnouts to show off for the crowd that has started to line the driveways. We had a near accident last month that put some bystanders in jeopardy which would have been tragic as well as would have ended our event as we know it. The owner of the NC Music Factory and Mattie's have been very gracious to lend us this property to gather and we want to make sure that we respect their hospitality, but they will not do it if this type of behavior continues. If this type of behavior continues we will not have a gathering place and C&C will end as you know it. At this size and scope there are not many places that can or will accommodate this type of event. Charlotte/Mecklenburg's finest from the Police department have agreed to make an appearance and help keep this event civil. I am restating the rules here on this forum but I know that a lot of individuals that come do not see these each month so for those of you that do please spread the word and help us keep this event going and growing here at the NC Music Factory.

Fall is here, this is the time of the year that our cars love. Get them out and have fun! Hard to believe that it is the 1st of the month already. Word of mouth, the signage, and the CMPDs presence helped us keep things under control last month, for that I thank you. We only had a select one or two that did not get the message about the high rates of speed on the frontage road.
