My old thread was bumped all the way down I presume so here is the scoop on the Mazda meet I was talking about. I want to get whoever from our rx7club to come if possible to have some 7's there. These guys are pretty cool and love Rx-7's.

PS: Jamin, Toby, Chip, and Jon... you guys should come along. If anything, I'd like to at least meet up w/ you guys to hang out and shoot some pictures and shoot **** while I'm on vacation down there.

So let me understand something, you want to / need to, do a tranny swap, you have the parts-car that has the tranny you will use. (am I right so far?) but you want it (the parts car) in your driveway / your moms driveway, but she wont let you have that, so the act of doing the swap is impaired somewhat.
Heres what ya do.
Dedication. : You go to where ever this parts-car is, you take your tools, you take the tranny out, you transport this tranny back to your house (supposedly where your car is, heck the one car your mom will let you have / work on in her driveway etc.) you take the tranny thats in you car out, then install the replacement tranny.
Your done, your happy that you don't have to deal with the problem anymore, and your amazed of the job you accomplished.

Yeah, Im preaching, and I have been very much at fault with the same type of situation of needing to do a job / fix something / etc, but instead, slacking off / whining about it / etc. But I have found that if you just do it / get it over with / etc. It will all be better.

Ive noticed that you've posted a number of times about doing this swap with not actually having it done yet, so I hope the info above helps.

You know, I know I can take some pretty good pictures, but I also know that you can take great pictures.

And yea... I do want some nice pictures of my FD! Though I might take the 8... defiantly need some pictures of it.

i will make it this weekend after i grab the little thats left i need from the parts car got the tranni out and most of the parts minus the starter and the lines themselves but now im waiting on a new clutch and short shifter to come in.

 

you have to take the starter off to get the tranny off? your post makes no sense

 

no but fron what i understand the Auto starter wont work i have to use a starter from a manual tranni. the guy at Advancedf Auto Prats said the 2 starters wher if nothing else different part numbers. and we already got the tranni off it is not in the lugage compartment of the caqr along with the flywheel and other parts.

Well I've tried to figure out a way to make it down there and still get the billion and one things done that I need to get done this weekend... but unforutnatly I'm not going to be able to make it!
