Birmingham Saturday
Would anyone like to go for a ride Saturday morning? I know lots of good roads in the Leeds area. I spend lots of time riding my motorcycle looking for curvy roads, and I have found quite a few!

I guess you are referring to 25? Out by Barber's/Leed's all the way back to Harpersville? I don't know which would be more of a decision, the Ducati or the RX7. Lemme check Saturday's schedule, I may be game.

If I find someone to work on my A/C I may be on my bike. Any ideas on who I should talk to BTW?

As far as I know, Rick, ther are no true "RX7 shops" in town. Most people still react the same to a rotary around here. A friend of mine is the manager for an Express Oil in Crestwood. He (Marty) would definitely help you on the A/C.

Convert it back??? There should be a vacant slot on your e-shaft pulley for a dedicated A/C compressor belt. You talking about converting it back to R12 or R134A? or just the belt setup? If you need help, you know you can give me a call and I'll help ya out.

^ Umm.. You recall that yard sale crap that cluttered my garage?
Well- I found the A/C belt in its midst last night. My bad..
That's all you need to hook it back up. Just have someone test the compressor and charge it (with 12 if you can find it) and see if it works..
I never used it.

I don't think anyone around here will charge the system with R12. They will want to vacuum the system a then fill with R134. IMO, R134 sux! The 1st gens always struggled with R12, even more so with R134. If you need a hand, just call and I'll help you. If I remember correctly, all you should need is a 14mm wrench and ratchet/socket...your belt should be on the most outward groove. I don't remember for certain though. Just make sure you get a 1/2" belt for your a/c (and your alt too, if you want).

more fun roads in leeds, go down mainstreet in downtown leeds, and as you pass under the old railroad tracks make that next right hand turn, i forget the road, but the next 15-20 miles os FUN curves over the mountain and back down the other side. make for a nice ride one day when its cooler outside

Looks like I have to stay home in the morning anyway, and then make a trip to south Alabama Saturday evening.

Acturally the car runs pretty well. I'm installing some flush headlights for someone else. Hope you could make it to OCT 30th gathering..
See you later!
