It seems that a lot of our cars are in need of maintenance or upgrades and maybe down next month. I for one am planning a new spring/strut setup and changing brake fluid should solve my spongy pedal. Anyway we may move the next ride to June and have a get together on my deck. Burgers, dogs, chips etc. Of course sodas and the such, but anything alcoholic depends on what you can afford to buy, bring, drink, and then drive home.LOL Anyway thee are all thoughts at the present and we still may have the ride. Depends on all the members of the group really. Let me know what you want to do for may.

Marcus

I will get the pictures to you when I get home from work.

Well I'm always up for a cookout, and it would be nice to socialize with everyone a little more. So I'd be down for that. I'm sure I'll still make a Dragon run in May, so maybe I'll throw out an informal invite to anyone who wants to tag along. I guess we'll see what everyone else wants to do.

Spongy brakes is just the abs's way of saying "Hey im here", at least in every car ive driven. Dont tell me tryiing to keep up with the 20yr old FC made ya want to push the car more eh?

But a cookout sounds great to me >.>

One thing is for sure, you push your 20 year old car closer to its limits more than I pus we h mine. I heard noises coming from your car that scared the **** out of me. I do beleive it is time to do something with the brake fluid though. I think the abuse of the past two years is causing it to boil. The brakes worked well after the easy ride to Fontana Dam and cooled while we talked up at the dam I was able to catch Tony's son and my brother before they got slowed by traffic and brakes were solid again. I figure the next timethey get good and hot the fluid will boil off again to easily so I'll get it changed. A relatively inexpensive fix.

Having said that you drive your car well regardless of age. I enjoyed the gamesmanship of power in the straight and then having to give up ground in the corners. Nissan and Mazda are the cars I have had since I was 16. Always more power at Nissan. Always better cornering at Mazda. It makes the day fun. Anyway it was a great time for me. Even though on the way back my nephew had to toss, He asked today to go back when I go. Get'em started early.

As for the grill we can do it or ride in May. Go to the site register and state your option. i think we are going to have two of these this summer. Jimi pictures are coming in a moment.

Yeah, I will give them nissan's credit, had plenty of power to catch up in the straight bits.....but where's them videos? I know I counted at least 2 in car mounts and probably another hidden somewhere.

As for pushing my car, if you dont know the limits of what you can and cannot do you wont be prepared for when you really do need to push it a bit harder. For this I can expect certain reactions from the aging suspension, which most of the sounds that are scary is the muffler only being held by its clamp and one donut, the trans didnt like going from 3rd down to 2nd and from 1st to 2nd either. other various groans are bushings that will eventually be replaced, but she holds up despite the abuse, never once has she left me stranded on the side of the road for anything other than one blown coolant hose, and even with 1 rotor spinning i Daily drove her for a couple weeks till my replacement arrived.

But cant wait till the next run, though theres an autocross out here in maryville around mid may i think, being held at the William Blunt highschool. Its a SCCA sanctioned event so thats a real test of times on a closed course.

What's the exact date of the autox. it would be cool to make the autox the ride and everyone give it a shot. Most of us have never autocrossed. i know I haven't. It would probably be a giant cluster+#(% but maybe a lot of fun. We can always roll back for dogs kool-aid and cokes after the autox. I am going to push it up the ladder on my side and see what shakes out. As for all the guys who want Z's here, I can't answer for the rest, but I seriously want a RX-8 to go with my clan. Dreamin of a white with dark tinted windows and gold rims.. man I need another garage.

anyway find out the date of the autox. hopefully will not conflict with ZdayZ.

Oh yeah as a side note call me chicken but I like learning the limits away from 80 ft drops, LOL but I got what you're saying and agree mostly.

fellows I think we are going to combine the two ideas of doing the autocross and the pic nic all in one. The initial plan is that we may get a tent whatever and have a central spot for everyone to hang out. We will probably bring some hotdogs cokes and chips for members of our group. Try to make a day of the autox. If any ideas let me know. meanwhile I will start a thread at the sporstcarfrenzy site. Register for our group and sign in that you intend to come. Also let us know if you plan to run your car in the autox.

The autocross is in Maryville Carmen. You don't have to be an SCCA member or anything. They're pretty relaxed about tech... just make sure your car isn't leaking fluids everywhere, have your battery properly tied down, and you need working seatbelts, some tread left on the tires, and obvious stuff like that. If you don't have a helmet, they have helmets there. And yeah, it's a big CF the first time. You'll probably get lost. Most of us did. Join up on SportsCarFrenzy.com as Sunset said and they'll have more info.

I guess soon is relative. I will start its own thread as particulars go up. We have announced it on Sportscarfrenzy now. we see everyones reaction. I have a bunch of ideas about things we can do. Now that I have all these friends that like the same things I do

Thanks for the pics! I'm glad we're getting a lot of interest. It's always good to have a lot of familiar faces and support at the sanctioned events. I think I might let my first gen do the talking this time around

All of a sudden it has become quite a competitive group. Now we are talking about maybe going to Barber Park in July. I think you guys have started something.
