August 27th - Central Florida meet in Orlando
Looks like the storm will clear the state late at night on Friday, so we should be good on Saturday. Still shows 40% of rain for Saturday, typical Florida day. Should be a lot of fun. Hopefully no one got scared off because of this little storm

Yeah.....don't let this thing scare anyone off.. It looks like the storm will be at its furthest point west if it decides to turn.. Saturday's weather in central Fl. will be better than tomorrow as the storm passes over the state and into the Gulf. Unless the storm makes an erratic change I hope no one is chickening out. Rey it looks like I am packin a bag and hangin out all night! No fishin' on sunday!
Im puttting my turbo on today when I get off work. as long as all goes well and car is running good ill be heading up tonight to avoid the rain and ill be there for the meet!!!!!
PLEASE PREY FOR MY CAR!!!!!!

man i don't know what to make of all these weather reports... 50-70% chance of rain and crap... but it doesn't look like the storm will be over or close enough to touch any of orlando... prolly just some squalls might run through there.. i'm just gonna hold off until friday before i make my judgement i guess. I'd really like to come, but if this gets rained out.. its gonna be a real damper.

I can't win them all can I? Stay safe and do what the doctors tell you Brian. I don't think that includes erratic weather forecasts - besides Ryan is the meteorologist, so that's his job.
OK, here's some more thoughts from me on the meet:
I have to be back in Tampa by 4 PM Saturday. There's no way around it, it's just something I have to do. As such, I will probably be leaving Race Rock around 2 PM.
We are confirmed for Race Rock. They can only block off 75 spots. So if you are the 76th person, you will have to find an alternate place to park. I was told more than once they will be vigilant about this. Anymore than that, and they will start TOWING CARS. I repeat, they will start TOWING CARS.
For lunch - I suggest people go in small groups when they are ready to eat. Hopefully some people will want to eat right away and some will wait until 2 or 3 PM. This is what I told Race Rock and they thought it was the best course of action; they will beef up there staff a little on Saturday to accomodate this.
There may be a surprise for you all on Saturday. Some details have to be arranged, but that's all I will say. I have no control over whether the surprise is there or not, but I wanted to give you a teaser.

The weather - yes, we live in Florida. It rains, and there's these hurricanes that strike from time to time. Barring torrential downpours Saturday morning here in Tampa, I will be coming to Orlando. Saturday afternoon could very well be just fine if Katrina is back out in the Gulf tomorrow night or early Saturday morning. Cross your fingers, and like your local weatherman always tells you, keep checking for updates.

also to quote Carlos:
A little water isn't stopping me!
I talked to the Metro guys at Base Operations today and they do not think Saturday will be much more than possibley scattered thunderstorms on Saturday. When Katrian cross South Florida on Friday it will degrade down to a Tropical Storm and not pick back to a hurrican till it's due south of Tallahasse in the Gulf.
Here's the main National Hurricane Center link to Katrina:

Now who else is not afraid of a little water! ;-)

5am weather update..Looks like the storm is continuing west as projected. Even jogged a bit to southwest. Still is expected to turn. Looks good for the meet still. The storm should be out in open water while we are having fun!
